I called up tax credits on Saturday to say I'd had another baby. On wednesday I got my usual amount of money - £270, then yesterday I was doing online banking and realised they put £437 (came up as child TC) in my amount and then a seperate £30 (came up as working TC). This seems way too much to me. When I did the online calculator thingy it said I'd get about £460 every four weeks, so that makes sense for the second & third amount they gave me (added up to £467) but not the £270 they already gave me. I think they must have given me the adjusted amount without realising the old amount had already gone through. Do you think they'll make me pay it back? I'll put it in the savings for now.

Id prob just give them a ring as they would make you pay it back if it wasn't right wouldn't they.. Id rather know now than in a few weeks or months time when they figure it out. but bonus if it is right!

I would just keep in ur bank for now x

Ahh ok, the way I was working it out it still seemed too much but I confuse myself! I'll wait to see what the paperwork says, always takes so long to come through. Will keep the money in savings though now just incase.

I'd keep it in a separate account just in case they ask for it but I wouldn't offer it to them! If you have to pay it back they take manageable amounts each month. X

Get it in your purse, and run like the clappers!!!!!!!!!
