sssooooooooooooo what do you do with your toddler through the day?

we go out once or twice a day, and at least one of these times we have a big play in the park, we also play in the garden, the house and sometimes eli has to sit in the pram while we are in town.....

what else can i do with him? i am thinking that in the winter it's going to get harder to get out (walking). he has a ball pit, tent, tunnel and music set indoors and loads of other little bits....but im not sure i can stand being in!!! i thought of swimming and some classes if we can get to them....

what do you do on an average day?

Pretty much all the things you suggested.. erm cooking as well. I've started getting the little boxes of things to cook (cookies/fairy cakes/brownies) as its much easier than weighing out the ingredients and doing it all properly as Immi can't be patient enough when we do it that way.

Also I fill a huge bowl up with water and put towels down and she'll play with that for ages. I give her a spoon, sponge, straw things like that to play with.

Do you go to any toddler groups? We normaly go to one on a tues and she always enjoys it. Tends to take up a lot of time of the day too.. walking there and back and Immi wil always sleep ages after which is nice for me.

We go visiting a lot and we like to dine out with family and friends. I think noah spending time on his own with grandparents and his dad without me is something different anyway whilst i am at work.

We go to play group for 2 hours a day on a Monday.

I do need to go swimming more often with him tho, the pools by use are boring LOL.

It is hard when we are at home he just seems to amuse him self or goes in the garden with the dog.

I remember worrying about the same last year as I was heavily pregnant and Aimee was the same age as Eli.

I tried to take her to my mums, and on the days where we couldnt go out, I always made sure she had plenty of toys to play with. She is generally good at entertaining herself. I am really glad that she has pre school two mornings a week this year though, as being heavily pregnant with two toddlers and going out in the winter is not my idea of fun.

I will be keeping an eye on this post x

well for us it's a case of it being too hot outside to do anything so we are stuck in for 2 or 3 months of the year!

with Tyler we got lots of creative things for him to do, play dough, paint, crayons, stickers. Sticker can entertain him for hours if they are window ones, he loves putting them on and pulling them all off again!

lots of books and puzzles, a dvd with all the childrens rhymes and actions was a good one Tyler loved it!

fuzzy felt

messy play - either with water or mmm maybe you and eli can make your own play dough together.

he loves hide and seek and being chased around

mega blocks/duplo or stacking blocks etc

Tyler loves going to the supermarket too... if we just need a few pieces I get him a little basket that's on wheeles and he pushes it around and everything I need I give to him to put in the basket, then he puts it all on the checkout.

ummm any play groups you can take him too? soft play places, cafes with a kiddy area etc.

hmmmmmmmmm well, we go to sing and sign on fridays and i have just emailed a woman about a music group on mondays - im not sure im ready for stickers and playdo (is that mean? haha)

shell i do that with elijah and a washing up bowl and that keeps him happy for ages, he eventually will climb in and sit there splashing around Laughing

not sure if cooking is a bit risky while he is so young...i suppose crispie cakes could be a good start - do 15/16 month olds have enough concentration span?

we do a lot of walking (although i do admit i tend to have elijah in the pram unless we are in a park as he is just so uncontrollable even with reins?! i think it's just his age)

he will spend a long time 'sweeping' in the back garden and digging sand/mud/grass and doesn't like anyone 'helping' him with megabloks and things so i feel like im being a bit lazy?! maybe i am just being insane Laughing

Tyler entertains himself most of the time too! What about a tea set, Tylers currently running back and forward from his tea set to me and the cat giving us drinks and cake. (if only it were real cake nom nom)

if he wants me to play with him he just says (mmmm) in a whiney voice, otherwise I let him get on with it - he doesn't like to be interfered with Smile

I'm at work in the mornings so Chloe does the following:
Tuesdays are swimming lessons, Wednesday's story time, Thursday's playgroup, Fridays gymnastics.
usually she has a sleep when I pick her up, otherwise she plays with her toys, we do drawing and painting, baking, she helps me in the garden and sometimes we just dosilly things, like put music on and dance around, or put a sheet up over the back of the chairs and make a little den to play in. Chloe loves puzzles too but he might e a little young for those yet , she's also at an age where she will sit and watch a DVD. It does get easier as they get a little bigger
