hello
sorry i've not been on in ages but things are a bit all over the place at the moment
anyways i just wanted to say a huge thankyou for every bit of support you guys gave for the 24hour walk, not only the money raised, but all of the lovely encouraging texts/posts were so very very appreciated!!
the walk didn't really go to plan but i did hang in there and finish the full 24hours!
we started at 6.30am at westminster, just in front of big ben, all went well until we hit about 10miles in, my brother started to lag behind, then began limping so badly we were going at a snail's pace!! by this time my feet were already blistered to bits, but i was managing well enough
we dumped my brother off with my other brother at bluewater as he just couldn't carry on
from then on it was just me and sam and we made good time to medway...unfortunately though my sister called asking us to come sort lily-ann out because she wouldn't take her milk and was screaming...not a shock since she was trying to force scalding hot milk down lily-ann's throat!!!
it was heartbreaking having to leave the kids again, especially since lewis said 'love you' for the first time
after the stop to sort lily-ann it became really hard, poor sam had such bad chafing to his legs and bottom that he could barely walk, and my feet by this time was a mass of blisters
anyways we carried on but about 2hours from the end sam was basically walking asleep! he even started hallucinating, so he had to drop out with just over an hour to go....
and that left me on my own finishing it! my big brother picked sam up and drove along beside me for a mile or two as it was still dark and he didn't want me on my own, for the last half hour we played a fun little game of chase the car...it kept me focused and i managed to run the last half hour!
my poor little toes still haven't recovered after swelling to double their size with blisters so bad my nails were all but hanging off!
so far we have raised over £1000, with at least £200-£300 left to come...so once again, i cannot thank you all enough
