| The safe limit has dropped since I had Chloe to 200mg, which is two cups of coffee a day I've normally had that before I get out of bed What's your view? Obviously I'm going to cut right back, but do you think it's a real risk or just another case of OTT rules? |

| Hey Tara, that's kind of how I feel, I don't eat liver anyway, I never ate pate with C and won't this time round, but I did have the odd drink later on in my pregnancy and drank coke and coffee last time, just not excessively and I love my dippy eggs , just not too runny. I remember having this battle with myself last time between what was advised and what I thought was sensible. I guess I can switch to decaff, but I'm not giving up my morning caffeine hit |

| When I was having Ellie I had to cut out all of my favourites such as pate, blue cheese, red wine, it was a killer but I did it. But I didn't cut out coffee, I love coffee and my work have costa coffee in our canteens. I found out that Costa do decaf, I tried it but it was shite so I carried on with my two lattes per day and the odd cup of instant whenever I had the urge. When I had my other kids tea and coffee were not on the banned list so i don't see that much can have changed. I also got told that mr whippy was a no go! But I couldnt stop my whippy, mcflurries or mcdonalds milkshake I think if you're sensible and listen to your body then you'll be fine xxx |

| I was uber careful and denied myself everything lol Im of the opinion 'why risk it?' I'm so glad I did though because otherwise after Ollie dying and Amelia being born so early I would have seriously blamed myself. I feel sort of vindicated tat I did everythin I could.
On the other side of the coin though I did all that and m pregnnacies didnt go smoothly so if somethins going to happen its going to happen regardless |

| I think I have way too much caffeine and Ive also not had any pregnancy vitamins eek
I pretty much only drink diet coke and I sometimes have an iced coffee thing and/or coffee flavoured ice cream.
tbh I didnt really know why they said to not have it till recently and I figured that things change all the time - I bet in a few years they'll be telling us not to have any thing to drink other than water ( actually Ive had that already from my doctor yeh right ok then!!) |

| Ive had decade for over 3 yrs and didn't notice any difference in taste, but recently found sachets latte and will be having one day as my treat.
I was good with Lucas and will be doing the same this time, too many other risk factors for me anyway so will be doing what I can to be careful

| I was pretty strict carrying Imogen, and I think if the rules are now stricter I would probably not go any further than I did before - I think the caffeine worked out as 2 large mugs of tea and a can of diet coke with my lunch. Or I would swap the cola for another tea. Jeez, I have up to 4 teas a day at work, and my mug is ginormous, I love tea!! |

| I can't stand decaf coffee but I did actually stop having my morning coffees when pg, but like I said I live on diet coke, it must be better for me to drink say 2 litres of diet coke and a glass or two of water rather than only 1 litre of water? I need the liquid being in the heat but can't stand water bleurgh but thats my only bad thing I dont do alcohol or fags or anything else your not meant to |

| You can have up to 5 cokes a day and stay within safe limits Jade. I've just been out and bought some decaf, will see what it's like x |

| In early pg I was drinking 4 tins of coke a day!!! I needed too for the sugar as I was so sick, it was a craving I knew it was within safe limits but tbh if id known the limit was 3 I prob would have still had the 4th on days I felt really rough... I dont drink tea or coffee anyway so coke is my main caffeine intake. I now drink diet coke which would prob work out at 1/2-3/4 of a big btl a day... so I think thats still just within limits. Some days I prob drink more but I dont really think about it or measure out my glasses. I also have the odd glass of wine now im further on, I eat mcflurrys (though I think on another thread ages ago someone said they were safe), eat mayo from the chippy that Im not sure if is home made or not but I strongly doubt it.... Hate pate/shellfish/soft cheese etc anyway. Oh and eggs yeah im sure iv had 2-3 runny ones in the last 7mths, again I was sensible and considered how runny they were and who had cooked them. The way I look at it is Iv never had food poisoning in my life from a runny egg so what are the chances of getting it now? Maybe thats the wrong attitude. I can totally understand where kayleigh is coming from but. I suppose it wouldnt be that hard for me to skip the glass of wine or pass on the egg, but atm I guess im feeling quite relaxed as its second time round. |

| i'm really naughty and have 2 energy drinks a day...or 3 cups of tea(then i go onto decaff) i don't smoke and i never drink or do drugs, so i don't see having an energy drink every now and then it anything too bad tbh i think they're being overly cautious! |
