First topic message reminder :

i've posted a gazillion times about my sister and how annoying she is

well her benefits have been cut(haha) and she has had to give up her gym membership...that she never used! and started whinging she's gaining weight because of it...

she's 18st..and gone up to 18st 4 within a few days

anyways the loving big sister that i am...i spent £200 and bought her a treadmill....gave her a long talk about fat intake and calories/fat ingoing vs cals/fat outgoings etc..

she's had the treadmill nearly a week....and used it once...for half an hour on such a slow walk she burned 100cals!!

grrrr why the hell have i bothered?? she eats over 200g of fat most days and has a 'i cant help it' attitude so i guess i should have known she's too greedy/lazy to make an effort, but still i'm really peeved

I've been in two minds about posting on this thread as I can see it from both side, when you have sooooo much weight to lose you can kinda lose sight of the light of the end of the tunnel BUT if you really want to do it you can, like you have. My weight is coming off slowly but surely; I'm eating healthier and have upped my exercise. I wouldn't take it to the extreme of 4 hours a day though purely because I dont have the time lol, and I wouldn't want to be a size 8 I think I'd look good a size 12, I would look ridiculous any smaller as I'm tall.


You seem like a really loving yet frustated sister, but really its down to her to make a change in her life and if she keeps moaning about it maybe tell her some home truths to shut her up!!

www kenty sorry you are being taken for granted, i'd love my sister to be as helpful or giving as you, but she is similar to yours!

Did she ask for your help? i dont understand the point in asking for something unless you have every intension of using the help!

i hope she realises what a wolly she is and gets her arse on the treadmill!

200g of fat a day what on earth is she eating?

i don't do 4hours a day anymore either, who would have time with 2kids!?!

i understand what you're saying about when you've so much to lose....but if she won't change her life style then she has no right to complain


i've tried telling her some home truths and she acts all upset and says she knows what she has to do and she wants to do it etc...then still doesn't change

yes she asks for help kell, she asks for help every few months and every time i write her up an exercise program, talk her through her eating habits etc and she never listens

she'll eat a pastry for brekkie, a high calorie savoury pastry for lunch, another for a 'snack' a pizza with 2garlic bread baguettes for dinner, a whole big bar of aero mint, then tuck into her bf's then snacking on other chocolate and stuff in between.

Thats actually made me feel sick, she must feel like crap eating all that it can't give her much energy at all!! xx

the main problem is that she doesn't do anything with it...she has a free bus pass and lives literally 1minute from town so never needs any energy to walk anywhere

which is why i bought her the treadmill.

i understand it's hard for someone of her weight...but if you ask for help or it's offered then use it...especially when i dipped into my wedding fund to buy her it!

You have every right to be annoyed and she is lucky to have a sister who cares that much about her hun xx

God she annoys me (as im sure ive told you before) I would def take it off her and sell it... thats just crap she isnt even making an attempt. If my sis bought me a treadmill guilt alone of her buying it would make me run my ass off as id feel bad if she had been so kind and I wasnt using it

she was proper bouncing about it before it came, now she's got it she's just totally lost interest...

i paid out £350ish for mine(should have been £1000) and guilt for spending so much on myself has kept me using it! lol
