i was getting sick of looking at my overflowing kitchen cupboards so just went through them and am disgusted at the amount of tins and jars that i have just binned that are out of date
soup,fruit,sauces,gravy,baking products, dressings ,oils i cant bring myslef to work out what the cost may have been . I need to start checking my cupboards before i go shopping i keep on buying what i already have and never rotate my stuff
on a brighter not my cupboards are ever so tidy and organised now

Mine have nothing out of date cos I regularly check and either use it quick or bin it!
I did find something that had got missed...was about 4 years out of date

lol i can't generally afford to buy stuff without checking to see if i already have it...but i do have some soups at the back that look a bit old

my mum once had some food in the back of her cupboard that was 11 years out of date hahaha tramp!!!

LOL! I try to clean out my pantry at least once a month. I usually find stale potato chips, broken pieces of pasta that somehow spill out of the box..brown sugar that has petrified because someone hasn't put the air tight lid back on..bits of cereal and what not. Canned goods I have found some stuff dating back to 2007..which I thankfully caught and tossed. The worst area for me is the fridge! I find science projects in their pretty much weekly! x

haha i must admit i did find some pasta with a use by date of 2009 a couple of weeks back lmao and some soda bicarb from 2010 oooops x

LOL Lou 11 years is pretty bad....the funny thing about the thing I found was we'd only been in this house 2 years and when we moved it was already 2 years out of date, and we'd moved 6 months before...so ermmm yeh it moved house twice while out of date!

we found a tin of mandarins which had moved house with us twice it was 4 years out of date....we opened them out of curiosity looked alright!

LMAO Mari..botchulism..what does it taste like? Actually..what I don't get is how in some post apocalyptic movies, the survivors..they seem to be eating canned goods several years later. And what about jarred goods..like pickles..doesn't that stuff keep for years? Anyone else wonder about this Best Before date stuff..I don't as a kid..only on perishables like meat..milk..bread...

I dunno, the thought of something sat for 6 months in a tin makes my skin crawl!

its in a tin! so its sealed......i think really sweet things are alright because sugar doesn't really go moldy, and salty things are the same (says the queen of mold haha), we didn't eat the i was just curious to see if they were furry
