I think it really depends where you go!

If its a good resort with plenty of choice of places to eat within walking distance then self catering can be a nice option - but if the resort is either far away from the main shop/food area it can be too much of a pain and so easier to go all inclusive.

I've done both and tbh I enjoy them both, for but some places we went all inclusive I was really glad cos it was a bit of a trek to anywhere nice to eat!

Probably easier to go all inclusive...it can also work out a lot cheaper, and you havent got to stress that they are hungry and you havent found somewhere to eat yet!

I love all Inc and self catering. Ai is much cheaper for us as when I self cater I don't cook and eat out for every meal.
As long as you choose a decent all Inc is great, especially with little ones x

I'd go all inclusive with a little one bth, you literally don't have to stress about food at all, some places even do packed lunches if you request it, self catering could be more expensive, especially if you don't plan on cooking so eat out, or if you do cook you have the joy of cleaning etc!

We have just booked to go to Majorca and we were swayed towards self catering.

The kids wil all be pretty young still and if I were going AI I would want a 4 or 5 star hotel as the food can get a bit samey. We worked out what we will spend and it has worked out cheaper to do the self catering option as we got free kids places so didnt pay for them. x

We went SC (well actually B&B) when we went to Turkey last year and it worked out great for us. We got to walk around town and go somewhere different each night for dinner. This time however we've decided to go AI. Reasons being with Imogen being that bit older (She'll be nearly 3) and Josh as well we thought it would be better to have everyone in one place. Also the kids can have drinks and ice cream whenever they want. When we were in Turkey we tended to be counting money and not always getting ice cream/snacks/drinks when we wanted.

I would say go all inclusive so everybody gets a break. On our honeymoon we went self catering and about 10 nights of our 14 night break I was making lunch and cooking dinner so I didn't get a break from the kitchen so told hubs his idea was crap and next time we go away abroad we're going AI as I need a holiday too xxxx

btw, we wont actually cook when we go self catering... the plan is to just eat out at different places every night.

My parents are coming and my mum loves self catering and she likes to cook a couple of nights, so the kids will eat with them on those nights and James and I will go out for dinner alone when they are soundo. x

Definitely AI Smile

We have always done it and find it's always nice knowing that you won't have to spend too much (if any at all) on extra food or drink once you're there, you can relax just and enjoy the local food. Food always tastes better when you've not had to cook it LOL!

I've heard Ibiza is great - especially the night-life ~ in general, I mean, not just the clubbing scene! Smile

We have done self catering and AI with Lily and I would 100% say AI is far easier at this age. I can honestly say we would have spent far more on food etc as it is all so expensive with the euro at the moment and there was no cooking, washing up for me whatsoever Very Happy We went here and i would highky recommend it to anyone with small children, the food was fab, there was loads to do and Lily had a whale of a time.
