my 2 older ones went out with their pals
the youngest came back with his school bag full of treats , a pirate with a school bag lol !
my oldest came back with a couple of sweets , i said i thought you were trick or treating he said noone answered their doors
this started a conversation about when OH and i were younger that loads of ppl were into taking part in halloween and they had you dooking for apples and other games which was great fun , we then talked about how nowadays there is so much more available in terms of decorating your porch or even more ppl carve and put pumpkins at their doors so young ones know you will answer the door ( i know i did it last year )
his reply , there were loads of houses decorated at the wimpy houses ( a scheme of houses next to ours )to which we replied so why did you not trick or treat his reply ( my 12 year old son )
we thought it was maybe a ploy and it was really peodophiles trying to get kids in as some were sitting in their garages all haunted decorated a perfect way to entice kids in !!
we had about 6 lots at our door but had to stop answering after a group of 11 girls came to our door , they cleared us out , they m,ust have been about 14 years old , when is the right age to stop trick or treating , my son and i agree that last night would have been his last night as he will be 13 next halloween , he wants to either stay ome and answer the door to ppl or take his little sister out , obviously with me
