i dont think this is encouraging mothers to abandon children , well maybe it is but i think it is a fabby idea thinking of the alternative

I agree with you. I dont think you would abandon your child just because there was a bin available. If you are going to do it, you are, no matter what, so I think it is a good scheme to have.

I think its a good idea. People that abandon babies often do it because they feel they have no other choice (whether that's right or not). I can't imagine that this is going to encourage more women to abandon their babies but might save the lives of babies that are being abandoned

i think this is a really good idea...the amount of babies that must suffer cold/starvation waiting to be found and saved must be very high, so i'm definitely for it

I think it's a fantastic idea as you do often hear about dead new borns being found. Hopefully this could save lives.

Maybe the NHS could offer a totally confidential giving birth service were girls/women could safely give birth, receive the aftercare they need and then walk away and their baby in safe hands. It might reduce the amount of frightened girls giving birth on their own.

I think its a good idea too, anything could happen to a child if they were to be abandoned in india anyway wouldnt like to think.

At least the mother knows the baby would be safe a cared for.

Its not just India. They have them in some states in the US as well for example

i think they are great and should be in uk but realistically they wont have one in every town so who would get them ?
the city with highest teen pregnancies ? the city will most rapes ? how would it be decided ?
i think once in the past 7ish years ( and that is enough ) only 1 child has been killed by parent here and , i have tried finding the story online , a college hairdressers stundent here had a child she had a baby on board sticker on her car and her child was found in her cupboard
