Dreading it _
PostSubject: Dreading it   Dreading it EmptyThu Nov 03, 2011 7:57 pm

We're going to see my fil and smil for the weekend and I'm dreading it. I'm quite happy to see them because they're about the only in-laws I get on with. However, we've just got Jamie into a reasonable sleep pattern (and I hate that its formula that does it) so he feeds from me when we get home and then has been going to bed. Then he has a bottle at 10, one sometime in the night and a feed from me sometime around 6 which is when we get up. We're going up Friday after work so its going to mess up his eating pattern and its a couple of hours and he'll probably sleep most of the way and then not want to sleep. Its also a strange place which is probably going to put it all out. We've only had it sorted for a couple of weeks and I can just see it being a pain when we get back

Arhh hun the best thing you can do is stick with the routine as best as you can. I hate messing up a routine too, coz it take like 5 days to get it back lol.

Can you not set off a little later at Jamie's bedtime? This is what we have always done when going to my parents, and it works great. We give them their tea and bath as normal, get them in their jammies and dressing gowns and give them their milk, then straight into the car at around 7 and set off so they fall asleep and sleep the whole way then when we get there we quickly set up their beds and stick them straight in and it doesn't mess up their routine at all Smile

I agree with Debs if you time it so it's Jamie's bed time when your travelling then it should be ok Smile

I agree with Debs too, I do the same when I come back from my parents, though it's not far I can always guarantee the kids will fall asleep on the way back so I make sure they've eaten and are in their pjs, then straight to bed once I get back. x
