there is not a seperate carrycot so the seating unit turns into carrycot
am i completely thick , how do they get it flat for a newborn , do you think an insert comes with it ?

Its similar to the obaby zezu we had, basically under the seat/carry cot unit there probably is a strap with clips so it kind of folds up to make it more like a push chair, then just unclip/fold back down to turn it into a carry cot. You can buy mattresses for them but I just used a folded blanket and it was just as good.

Don't know about that one in particular but ours has a little lever and you can move it up and down while they're in it
