Was in our local Aldi store this morning getting some flowers to take to the cementary to put on my mum and dad's grave and John's mums grave and this man came behind us in the queue, Bethany took an instant liking to him and was smiling and waving at him. The man had a block of white chocolate which he started waving at Bethany and by this time she was laughing her head off with him.
This kind man then put the chocolate with our shopping with a pound coin and said he would like to buy it for Bethany as it made his day, her laughing and waving at him.
John and I said thanks but he really didn't need to (several times) but he insisted!!
No need to reply but just wanted to share this little story with you ladies.
xx

it's absolutely fabulous when people do something lovely like that!

we had something similar last week, we take the kids to morrisons for dinner sometimes and our two were sat quietly waiting for their food when an old guy sitting across from us commented that they were so quiet and well behaved...to which i replied...thank God! about 5mins later he came over and handed them a pound coin each for being such well behaved quiet children, it was such a lovely gesture...and lovely for me as a mum to have my children's good behaviour be noted upon

That's really nice Lesley. I had something similar recently in wilco's. There a rather important man walking around who appeared to inspecting the place. Ellie was clowning around and picking things up and putting them in my basket. The man commented that that the store needed shoppers like Ellie Smile when I was at the checkout he came over and whispered to me that he had something for Ellie if it was ok with me, and gave her milky way.

Lesley, maybe we just live in a friendly town Smile xxx

That's a lovely story Kenty.
I think it's these little gestures that mean the most.

oo I have a similar story too.

on the day of hannahs birthday we needed to go to tesco to pick up some things and when we paid and got to the front she asked for one of those toys in the machines that sit at the door but we didnt have any change. an old woman heard us telling her we were sorry but we didnt have any pennies for it and came up and gave her a pound. and to make it even better hannah went up to her after buying her toy and showed her what she got and was chatting away (shes always a bit funny when people talk to her) so I was well chuffed that someone was so nice and hannah was also nice back blushlove

Halfway through my mat leave when we started hittinga rough patch id gone to the shops to buy some nappies and veg and got to the til and my card got declined, tried my other and it also got declined. Told them to put the shopping back but the guy behind me stepped forward, put his card in the machine and put his pin in and paid for my shopping. He wouldnt give me his address or number to return the money either Shocked

Am determined to return the favour to someone else one day
