Toddlers and glasses _
PostSubject: Toddlers and glasses    Toddlers and glasses EmptyTue Nov 29, 2011 12:06 am

Aimee had her hospital appointment today for her lazy eye and she has to wear glasses as she is showing signs of being long sighted.

I have tried to pick some non geeky ones for her and hope they look ok (we get them in a week).

They have said that she can have corrective surgery to fix her lazy eye, but they said that with her heart she is a slightly higher risk, so they have left it for us to think about.

I am not prepared to put her through surgery for cosmetic reasons for now (she is too young) and am hoping that the glasses will help fix the problem without the need for surgery (my brothers was fixed with glasses alone). If she still has the lazy eye in 3/4 years and its bothering her, then I will consider it, but I think its too soon to go down that route.

So... my little princess is now going to be a little geeky princess Laughing (I will post pics when she has got them) x

Aww bless her....my niece has a very lazy eye and has wore glasses since she was quite young (broke her glasses the first day she got them lol). Her Mum had corrective surgery on her lazy eye and they are considering doing it for Megan too as the glasses don't seem to be improving it.

Lets hope the glasses work and there is no need for surgery...I think kids in glasses are so cute:D

PS Blurddy hell Laura....when did you get so pregnant:D

awwww! we are waiting for our referral for opthalmology to come through for elijah as we feel his left eye is still squinting and don't want it to turn lazy (seems to be working fine just now but are going to get it tested anyway) so we might be glasses shopping together!!! not sure how he would take to it but hopefully with aimee being a bit older she might keep them on a bit longer Very Happy
