| Joshua had a dummy for a few weeks when he was first born, but Imogen kept stealing them then lost them all and he seemed fine without so we didn't get anymore. Now though he seems to have got into a habit of using my breast for comfort. It's messing with feeding routine as sometimes the only way to get him to sleep is letting him feed, although he isn't properly feeding, so just using for comfort, it feels like he's constantly attached to me! It's also got really bad at night, i think cause he's been ill the last week as well. Now he won't settle in his cot. I feed, he falls asleep, i put him down and he cries. It's getting silly cause last few nights it's been over 2hrs of this.. till i've given in and just put him in bed with us so i can easily feed. So question... do I get him more dummies and try settle him with them or do i leave him without dummy or my breast and do CC. He seems too young for CC though. I think we did it with Imogen at 5months, but she'd been settling herself, then started not so we did it to get back to routine. I just want some sleep! |

| Personally I'd try dummies again - when Dexter was that age I would of given anything for him to have one! Thankfully Libby found her thumb early on so it wasnt a problem with her.
I too think he may be a bit early for full on CC, I think Dexter was about 5 ish months too.
Hope you get it sorted - I remember too well how knackering it was when I had to feed him to sleep several times a night xxx |

| He sucks his hand a lot but his thumb seems to be too small for him to give him comfort.
It's just so annoying as he was sleeping 10-7 so I don't get why he's suddenly getting up and needed comfort so much. Maybe teething?? I've felt around his mouth but there's nothing and it's not red/sore looking. It's deff not hunger though cause he's not feeding, just sucking a bit then going to sleep.
Guess I will try dummy and hope for the best |

| Dexter was the same, he would suck his hand/wrist til it was bright red, he's only just recently started getting comfort from putting his pouted lips to his sleeve (strange boy lol). |

| I'd try dummies again. If not, not a long term solution but will he suck your finger? Jamie wouldn't take a dummy but we can put him in the cot and give him a finger to suck and he'll fall asleep. Would stop the waking up as your moving him bit. I know you don't want him to get into another bad habit but it may be that once he gets used to going to sleep in his cot he'll just doze off. |
