So Oh and me have organized a last minute wedding on Xmas eve. Anyway there's not a great history between oh mum and me. She's more interested in her son than me and the girls to the point that when we've gone up there she's only offered my oh food and drink. She even turned up when my youngest was born without anything for the baby or me but brought my eldest and her son chocolates. Anyways we are not overly taken by her bf who having only met us a handful of times tells off our kids and touches them in a while I don't like. He pulled my youngest top up rubbed her tummy and was like is this your tummy. Similarly he's slapped my eldest on the bottom when she's walked by him. Anyway, given that she makes me feel crap should we invite them. Mark has said no but I feel so guilty. It's only going to be my mum and dad, the girls and two friends and I'd rather that but she is his mum I guess.

Lastly we are doing it in a registry office which is okay. But for an extra £155 we could do it in a nice little hotel though we skint. On both counts would you invite mil? And for the saving of £155 have a registry office.

This is meant to be a happy day but the thing with his mum is stressing me.

Maybe you could not invite them to the wedding but have a party at a later date and invite them to that??? xxxxx

Hmm tough one. I say as it's your OH's mum let him make the decision. That way you have no need to feel guilty. As for the registry office or hotel....it's entirely your decision. Would you have to struggle to afford the £155? Will it make it anymore memorable? x

OH has said having her there would be awkward and so is happy for them not to be. Me I just feel guilty and it isn't helped by my mum making me feel bad.

Emz, we barely see them and thankfully it's a three hour round trip. I'm not overly keen on him having much tom do with the kids because he makes me feel really uncomfortable.

We could spend te £155 but there's stuff in the house it could go towards. Grrrr. Last minute decisions.

I kind of think that you've planned this beautifully spontaneously, you have your lovely romanitic story to tell. If that £155 was better spent else where and you'd love your day just as much without the hotel then save your money x

As for the £155, if it would really make your day to have it at a hotel not registry office then i'd spend it. I saved a lot on my wedding and altho i had a lovely day and i'm pleased just to be married to Matt, sometimes I do wish I had saved up a bit more and gone for the little more expensive details. However if you'll be just as happy with registry office then save the money
