| Aww I missed that - wanted to catch that today! Hmm,, i've had two, first not planned but doc thought i would probably happen, 2nd was a failed vbac so again was quite expected - I think it depends how much you think about it, i couldn't think about it at the time, just chatted crap at my oh to distract myself or I would have freaked out! you really can't feel anything though, except tugging when they're getting hold of baby and pulling him out - and it really does feel like someones tugging on your insides, there's no other way to describe it! All I remember before the op is the assistant doc waving at me and his hands were MASSIVE. If the epidural hadn't kicked in I would have run away! The recovery and moving around afterwards is really painful and I felt beaten up for weeks, so that was the worst part for me. Got him on my tummy straight away (after they'd given him a good talking to and convinced him to start breathing - too scary!) so I was glad about that. All in all it was scary but safest for baby as I couldn't dilate and he (and my womb) was getting distressed so needed to be out. Zee - the epidural was my favourite part! *Doctor rams needle in for 100th time* "umm, oops no, that's not right either.." as I tried to stay stock still between contractions! Not easy! It took him AGES and my back looked like a pincushion. I am glad though that I lost the ability/desire to hold in my guffs at some point (great side effect of my contractions!) so spent the whole time guffing and swearing as he stuck needles into my back at random. Sweet revenge! |

| I had to have an emergency c-section and wouldn't have another given the choice.
It wasn't bad experience I just didn't like the recovery after.
When I had mine there was a light above that was reflecting everything they were doing so I saw them do the whole thing.

| I had an emergency c-section and wasn't ideal. However, I'd been in labour 30 hours by that point and was so tired I barely cared what they were doing. The epidural was traumatic in the sense that you have to sit still while having contractions but compared to the pain you're in I didn't notice the needle at all. Recovery wasn't great. It was about 6 weeks before I felt myself and wasn't tired the whole time
The weirdest part is the fact you can feel them tugging. I was a little concerned that I could feel them before they started as I was sure that meant it would hurt but it didn't |

| i had two planned ones an tbh the epidural is worse then anything else...but i had a reaction to it both times! The op itself is absoloutly fine... just the recovery is quite sore. x |

| See I've had two now, first one emergency and the second one planned due to naughty baby being transverse and they were both awful for different reasons! First one was after 2 days of labour and because of baby's big head getting stuck as I was pushing and the epidural didn't work! I didn't really notice the needle because the contractions were constant and hurting so bad, but then when I was screaming in pain because I could feel the operation the anaesthetist didn't believe me so that was pretty horrendous I also got a really bad infection afterwards and the wound ruptured so recovery was really long which was the worst bit because I couldn't look after Stephen properly and it took 3 months just for the wound to close up. The second one went better but my bp kept plumetting as I had a reaction to the spinal but I didn't feel much of that being done other than a scratch. It actually went on for a really long time as they had to repair loads of damage from last time. Then I was very very ill afterwards and got an infection again so I'm still waiting to heal up So I'd say the recovery afterwards is the worst bit as it affects you being able to look after baby. If I had a choice I definitely wouldn't have a section next time but unfortunately I don't! |

| I had an emergency section after contracting for 37 hours and hannahs heart rate dropping with every contraction.
it was quite awful. however the best part of it was the epidural. it was very smooth worked instantly and was quite nice being able to sleep for a bit before the section.
the section was scary. horrible feeling but at the end of the day hannah was alive and I would do it again if needed. it is the one thing that puts me off having another though.

| haha well you didnt hear what I was rambling to the anaesthetist - told him I could feel EVERYTHING and was getting so stressed out that my heart rate was racing and he was panicking. oh said his hands were shaking trying to give me more drugs. I didnt calm down until he threatened to give me a G.A. then asked him afterwards if my stomach was flat now yeh it still isnt is the answer to that question lol |
