to send a text to yourself but make it look like it came from someone else??? My friend has had the police round tonight thanks to her wanker of an ex being accused of harrassing him even though he's the one harrassing her Evil or Very Mad

Hmmm not sure. Unless they had a chance to steal the other persons phone? Or knew the other perons log in details to send free msgs online eg from O2 site, but not sure if that comes up from mobile number or from website address if you follow me?

The annoying thing is, she's been waiting all week for a letter from the solicitor to be delivered to him and herself stating for him to stay away/ cease contact unless through the solicitor and arrange seeing their daughter through the solicitor too and it looks like he got in there first. She hasn't actually contacted him though. He drives by her house and her shop daily and sends abusive texts and emails and now she's the one that's been given the harrassment order by the police!! I'm so angry for her Evil or Very Mad

What evidecne do they have? Im fairly sure its not possible to send a text and add any number, that would be silly, so yeh unless he logs into her online account, but Im sure those texts show its from online

you can if you save your number under a name

so i could put marcs name but my number in the phonebook then it will show the text from that persons name.

Yeh but the police will surely check the actual number that relates to the text, not just what the name is ... I could accuse Donna or harassing me cos I save her number as mine ... the police would never fall for that!

They can't have done though cos she hasn't text him, that's what's peed her off. She doesn't contact him at all and yet she's the one being done by the police Sad

Maybe he bought a PAYG and text himself off that , then made out thats her phone ... Im sure if she hasnt actually text him that they will find that out

just a thought... the police can track which house a text was sent from. john sent an abusive text years ago, police came round, he denied it. later that day they came back to say they had evidence that it was sent from his address! so of course he had to admit it. clever technology eh!
