my midwife said it was to be done between 11 - 13week +6 but ive got a date through but i will be 14 week (15week by my counting) wot should i do? ive left the midwife a message but she hasnt got back to me yet and do they tell u the results at the scan? thanx xx

Maybe try ringing the antenatal department at the hospital, they should be able to change the date for you.

With Imogen i got the results on a print out when i left the scan but with Joshua they had changed it a bit and you had to have blood test and be weighed as well as the nuchal fold test and then get results in the post a couple of days later. Not sure if that is the same in all areas.

well the midwife took lots of blood from me and weighed me but i think thats all i had when i had riley at the scan they just measured him and said how far on i was and that was it really never heard of them checking on ur scan for the white mass before untill the midwife said about it if she doesnt contact me before the weekend i will try ring the hospital see what they say it might be they cant get me in with it being christmas time but they should try surely. thanx for ur reply xx

Make sure they change the date hun.

They did this with me and I was going to be 15+ something and I rang them and they refused to move my date as they insisted I didnt know my own dates.

I had a little tantrum and rang them back and spoke to somebody else and they changed it for me. Good job too, as my dates were right! If you leave it too late (past 13+6) they cant do the nuchal part of it x

We didn't get the results at the scan - had to have blood test and weight done at the hospital afterwards, then waited for result in the post, took a few days. (Plus my scan was too late in the day for bloods to be done as the courier had already been so I had to go back the following morning - you think they'd make sure 12 week scans were earlier in the day!) But they took my mobile no and I think if the result had been bad they would have phoned.

With this baby I got the results on the day (from the scan, not bloods). With the bloods they say that they will call you within 48 hours if there is a problem at our hospital x

I had bloods, answered loads of questions and got the results by phoning them 2 days later. During the scan the dr told me that my baby was fine and we had nothing to worry about. The results were just statistics of our chances of having a downs baby.

They don't do it on the nhs near me we had to pay and they were very strict on the dates.
