remember a couple months ago when D fell out shopping trolley, another accident tonight ! we had to take our living room door down so the stairgate would fitand recently she has learnt to climb over sofa and escape through dining area so we decided to take away stairgate and put door back up had the door leaning against the wall in dining room and completely missed Dgo through there so then there is a bang and D comes running out kitchen , door is no longr against wall but now half on dining room table half off and D has a huge lump on back of her head , obviously door has fallen onto table but dont know how much impact D had before it rested on table i feel so shitty , guilty everything , its not exactly a light door and i keep thinking how much damage has it done she is currently sitting on my knee watching tv , still happy though and only cried for a few minutes

Ahhh Hun! Firstly am glad she is ok..and secondly..it's a freakin miracle that from all the mishaps ALL of us mom's have with the kids..that they are alive to talk about it! Dude..I have done some the most stupidly obvious accident set ups..like leaving the iron on smoking hot to quickly run to turn the dryer back on..to come back to Maddy crawling and just about pull it on her...to leaving the cupboard open with all the chemicals/poison cleaning supplies where Matt actually got into some lemony scented floor cleaner. It's those split second blank minded moments, you run on fumes..tired..and just for a moment let your guard down..ie answering a phone call, or the door..could cause a child injury. Some days my house resembles a medieval gauntlet obstacle course that I am shocked no one has bloody well died! You are great mom hun..shit happens sometimes, and just makes us wiser. Hugs! xxx

I'm with Jen hun, you haven't done anything wrong. Accidents happen and even if we tried to think of every single safety thing possible (worth everything else going through our minds) they would find something. Joseph drunk flipping rinse aid last week I had to cal nhs direct and then had to wait for them to contact the poisons department as they couldn't decide if it was going to do him serious harm or not. I felt so bad as we doing have a lock on the cupboard door but usually have the stair gate shut so he can't get in, but with us all being il last few days I cba to quickly shut it behind me when getting Hannah a drink. I felt so bad but then waa like I need to give myself a break. Xx

I shut Ollie's fingers in the door a few weeks back We were going out the back door, Ollie was walking down the step and I tried to close the door - it wouldn't so I tried a bit harder and then realised his fingers were i the hinge bit of the door! He never made a sound so I didn't realise. Everyone has these accidents hun....unfortunately!
