With no dummy and his talking has come on leaps and bounds!! I actually thought I would have major problems taking him off it but he has been fine! A lot less morngy too as he has nothing to whine about, and this was the kid who had one permenantly in his mouth and one in each hand at all times!!!

Leah, I just told him Santa was taking his dummies and was leaving him presents, I took it off him a few days before Christmas to get him used to it before his presents, he has asked a few times for it and cried a couple of times but I have distracted him or just told him no diddy Santa took it so you could have presents, he's happy with that x

We did a trade off for a present too Leah though ours wasnt at crimbo but ive heard of ppl who tie it to a treein the garden or something overnight and in the morning the dumdums gone and theres a present there instead

I have made this a thing for the new year. Only thing is I'll have to do both as else Hannah will just rob Joseph's. I am dreading it she is so stubborn and constantly would have one given half the chance.

Well done!! Lillie doesn't constantly have it only when tired and bed but urgh father Christmas took it but Xmas night I had to call him and bring it back for the sake of my next door neighbours!! She screamed and screamed for hours and hours.

I was mortified when Imogen became able to say "mummy, dummy back please" rather than just looking for it and hoping we took the hint! She's not quite old enough for reasoning with yet though so it might be too soon to take it away, though having said that she has such a good habit at nursery that she just takes it out and hands it over when she gets there! At home there's no getting it off her. Perhaps I should just take it away, say "no dummies" and then wait for the paddy to end?

Kind of, he doesnt really understand i dont think, i just told him for a couple of days that santa was going to take his dummies then one night i just threw them all away. Then everyone we saw i kept repeating tell nanna etc whats santas took, and he would say diddy, then say and tell nanna what hes leaving you, and he would say present. He soon got the message it was gone and hes fine now x
