does anyone have a good night night book for their toddler? we have goodnight maisy which is great, but i need more than one - i feel that elijah really understands a lot of what we say to him now and is copying things/doing things he sees so its a good time to get another book. had a look at 'goodnight spot', but wondered if there were any recommendations? needs to be fairly short and still quite babyish but if it has bedtime 'steps' in it (like getting teddy, playing music, turning lights off etc) that would be great as eli is able to do lots of this himself

I'd just have a look in waterstones. We bought half the childrens section today. We got a snuggle bunny one (a puppet that's going to sleep). Erm we got spot as well which he seemed to quite like. Obviously we haven't used any of them at bedtime yet though

I bought a bag containing about 10 bedtime stories from the book people, they're all quite short with lovely pictures. No idea what they're called as I haven't read any yet

thats a nice idea lisa i used to love those when i was smaller anything electrical is a distraction. we are having to be VERY strict just now so its supper, bath, pyjamas, 2 books, lights out and star on - nothing goes back on and we stay in TOTAL darkness until baby is asleep.......its all that works for now because we are so out of our routine, but he has decided he doesn't like one of his 2 bedtime books anymore same books every single night is part of the routine because when we have ever changed it its become apparent it disrupts things...i do hope hes a bit more flexible as he grows up
