Yelling doesnt work in this house as I have a hot head redhead who thinks being yelled at is a personal challenge somewhat akin to throwing a gauntlet on the floor

eurgh i have one of these...although he's taken to screaming like a banshee when i dare say no, that or pointing and saying 'dont you dare!'

hahaha im with mario, yeah we are having to find sneakier and sneakier ways of disciplining, saying 'no' or 'stop that' just doesn't cut it and turns into a mammoth battle of wills (to be fair elijahs will is almost certainly stronger than mine)

I do the same as Lisa, but not often and only after the naughty corner he hates me shouting I don't even bout I just say Rowan no.

I know Amelia isn't the same as she's just pretty easy but we have the rule of; she gets asked, she gets told then she has to the count of 3 to do it otherwise she gets naughty stepped. We rarely ever get to 3 let alone naughty step. But when we do get to the naughty step and she's sat for 2 mins, we generally always have to take another 2 mins as she won't say sorry lol. x

mmmmmmm yeh Cerys is a bit too clever for the naughty step too, there is no way on earth she would sit still. I don't like to raise my voice (she just laughs when I do it ) Well she's gone back to playschool today which is better fro her as she needs lots of stimulation and I think she was getting bored over xmas xx

we do this too and its working really well - we don't do the naughty step yet though and he just has to do whatever it is (i.e we remove him, we take him to change his nappy, we put his coat on for him because we still can and i don't think hes ready for the step yet).

Amelia kept trying to get up too but I just didn't look at her or speak and just kept taking her back to the step. Even if it meant that she stood by it. I did it as many times as it took. She soon realised that I wasn't going to back down and it was just time wasted when she could be having fun.

Amelia's only been doing the naughty step since about 20 months x
