Jamie wants to walk everywhere now and has been out of the pram a couple of times when we've been out. His still quite slow and holding on to us but I was thinking ahead. Is it worth getting reigns. I was thinking about the backpack ones. Are they any good or should I go for traditional ones if I get them

I had traditional ones because I wanted to keep the harness on and be able to put her back in the pushchair or into a highchair without taking it off

we got normal ones for lil dude with no backpack etc but tbh we only ever used them a maximum of 3times, he would go absolutely mental screaming and trying to wriggle out of them, so we just stopped using them and insisted on hand holding instead

we have a littlelife backpack and its brilliant, we use it most days. it has a long strap that you can tuck into the bag if you aren't using it and a loop at the top of the bag that you can grab (when feeding the ducks for example)

we are out and about every day and only use a car at most once a month so if you are out a lot it's worth it. they do fold very flat when on so if you had to leave it on to get him into the pram you could, then take it off. elijah loves his and puts it on no bother, he loves to 'click' the chest strap on and the loop on the end of the long strap fits over your wrist so you can have it on your wrist while holding hands Smile got ours from amazon

I prefer the backpacks to traditional as its less intrusive to the kid as i found the traditional ones straps v short. Means I can give em a wee bit of freedom. C has a backpack made by Lisa with a loop for the littlelife strap off her old backpack which broke

We had reigns from when he started walking to about 2yrs old. We just ha the normal harness type ones so they could remain on whilst he was in the pram too.
I did always love the little life ones though.

Now he doesn't use a pram he just has a normal Buzz lightyear backpack an we pop a wrist type strap/reign through the hoop on the bag Smile don't use them often now though.

Personally I found the reigns invaluable. I felt better knowing he was secure especially in busy places and the amount of times it's saved him falling flat on his face Wink

Thanks ladies. We've ordered a dinosaur littlelife backpack because I'm worried he'll find the traditional ones too constricting. Might pick some of those up as well for the moment though when his going to be in and out of the pram because they're not that expensive

^ once he is in the pram you can just loosen the arm straps and get the backpack off really easily still
