| we've been given top band(A) with medical priority for housing with Leeds council, as this place isn't really suitable for grumples for much longer, she's going to need hoists, a lift, a special bath table/hoist etc and obviously no private landlord would allow us to have the alterations done, and we'd never get a mortgage, so council it is we've been bidding on houses every week for a good 4-6months, quite a few we've said look familiar to ones we've seen and bid on before, with looking into it we've bid on the same property 4 times!!! each time they've just relisted it....wtf!?! it meets all of the criteria the assessin OT have said she can have(3-4bed, no steps leading in etc) so why the heck have we not been offered this place if they have it just sitting empty and have had to relist it 4bloody times!!! i'm pissed off and sam is bloody fuming, it's a major struggle carrying a 35lb dead weight up the stairs(she's floppy as heck! lol), getting her in and out of baths etc and they have a house available and won't offer it, probably because they don't want to have to adapt it for her....grrr!! |

| Maybe they have been offering it to to other people who then dont want it - and instead of just offering to the next person they have to go through the whole palava?
Very stupid whatever - I think you should ring and say you want it! |

| looking into our bids history and the records they put online there are at least 2 houses that we've bid on been given to bands lower than us(band c!) so it just looks like they don't want to re-house us as they have to adapt a place for her and they don't want the hassle |

| yeah it sounds like time to talk to a real person, or even better maybe you and grumpalicious would like to go and meet them in person? i would definitely want a proper explanation because it's hard to imagine what that could be?! |

| Get in contact with your local MP, tell them about previous bids and houses been given to lower priority and ask if the council have a good enough reason as to why you have been overlooked several times. It takes the bloody p*ss x |

| we're going to go into the council monday if we get time(lily-ann has stay and play and then scan in afternoon!) or tuesday and demand to know wtf is going on, sam says if they can't come up with a decent explaination for why people with a lower band are getting houses that we've shown interest in then he's going to threathen them with legal action for disability descrimnation, as it's just not fair to ignore that she needs a place because they don't want the bother of making adaptations |

| Quite frankly that is bloody disgusting. DOnt they think youve got enough going on without having to fight them for what Lily-Ann needs? I hope you kick up a stink and they feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Bastards! |

| That's disgusting! Kick up an almighty fuss, they will act if you go to mp and papers because they don't like bad publicity, a friend of ours went to her local mp over something similar except it was her disability not her child and after months of hassle the mp had a house offered to her within a few weeks! Hope u get it sorted |

| Def go in and demand a letter in writing of what is said at meeting, do you have a social worker too, you should who can also pull some punches for you, not a child protection one but a children's disability team social worker, who should be pushing for the rehousing and any respite or equipment and also groups for little man to get a break too, if you want of course. Although I know alot of our facilities to help have been cut. But housing adaptations are part of children act 2004 I think and they breaking the law let alone disability discrimination if they not providing appropriate housing.
Hope you get it sorted Hun, mps are extremely good at gettings things pushed through quicker, believe me |

| we don't have a social worker, we've never had dealings with them, we have a specialist health visitor who sent them a letter asking what is going on with the housing since we've been bidding and had no success(she sent it about 2months back and we were copied into the letter) and they didn't even bother replying to it! sam is going to skip lily-ann's first stay and play session on monday morning and go into the council instead with all of our proof of bids etc printed out and demand to see a housing manager straight away |
