well between breathing and teeth we finally managed to start properly yesterday. Yesterday he whined for about 5 mins and then went to sleep (and after his 10pm bottle went back down until 5.20). Today he screamed when I left the room, then whined and then went to sleep all before 5 mins was up. Its not been anywhere near as bad as I expected. I am glad we didn't do it until he was one though (and nothing against any of you who did it before - that's just my personal feelings).

Glad you've finally done it and he's settling.

I'm glad I did it when mine were young but have nothing against those that didn't although I don't see the benefit in leaving it til they're older at all.

Each to their own. Imagine how boring the world would be if we were all the same! I don't think we could have done it to Jamie when he was younger even if we wanted to because he just didn't seem to need to sleep. I'm glad that seems to be changing. I don't think I could have kept coping on 3 hours or less a night
