I stopped breastfeeding Finlay almost as soon as we got home as he seemed to never be satisfied and took ages to feed so I started expressing and giving him what I could (tbf not a great a deal but he got about 1 feed of EBM a day)

well over the weekend we didn't give him an EBM just formula and he was really settled and napped well during the day, yesterday he had some EBM and was pretty much awake from 2.30 till 9 (he did fall asleep on us but as soon as we put him down he would wake crying)

today he's had no EBM and he's been happy and napping well again... do you think it's coincidence or is something in my milk bugging him?

There is always the chance that something that you are eating in your diet is upsetting him.

I would say to do whatever you are happy with. Im naff with bf advice, so as long as mummy and baby are happy then go with that x

Could be something in your milk. It could just be the fact that bf fills them up less so he could be hungary

having the bm seems to upset him all day though not just make him want feeds earlier... Im going to try again tomorrow I think and see what he's like... but if he's up all bloody afternoon again then sod it Im not going to sit here milking myself to upset it lol. Hes had 8 weeks of goodness

If its all day sounds like it might be your milk then. Perhaps it is time to stop

i think if you are happy to stop then do it, there's no point in worrying what other people think or want.

you could even go back to exclusive bf if you wanted to (i don't think you do!) but if you feel its time to go on to formula then go for it. i definitely agree its almost definitely to do with something you are eating which is upsetting him (more likely caffeine, chocolate, dairy, citrus or spicy food). maybe he is ready for a stage 2 teat?????!
