well found out today i wont be getting any from work cause i dont earn enough so will after clam maternity allowance off goverment does anyone know roughly how much it is is there like a set amount or does it go by hrs u do i dont understand it has when i went on maternity with Riley i was full time so got it xx

Maternity Allowance pays a standard weekly rate of £128.73 or 90 per cent of your average gross weekly earnings (before tax), whichever is the smaller.

MA is paid for a maximum period of 39 weeks.

im only on about £90 a week so would it be 90% of that ? xx

waaaaaaait a minute, so if i went back to work say, 8 hours a week, was getting 64£ a week.....i would only get 90% of that back instead of 128???? thats b*llshit

maybe i won't go back to work afterall??

or if i don't go back to work am i not elegible for ma?

Mari for MA you have to have worked 26 weeks out of the previous 66 weeks before your EDD/you claim.

I dont get MA or SMP even though I worked for 3-4 months of this pg earning an ave of £1-1.5k a month as I hadnt worked enough weeks in qualifying period. Cant get JSA as im not available to work atm (well I could claim to be but thats not really right). Its crap. I cant wait until Joshua is sleeping through and then mum will take him overnight and let me do 2-3 relief shifts a month to make some money.
