| oh and wtf - she says he played with genderless toys only - and she has dressed him as a fairy in pink slippers and a pink tutu? Also 'He is also encouraged to wear flowery tops at weekends' and they ban him from wearing comabts ---- hang on she isnt pushing him in any direction but encourages him to wear what is considered girls clothes....so she isnt giving him full control!
Looks to me like she wanted a girl but didn't get one!
I dont believe in stereotypes much, Izzy plays with a football, a train set, is a thug and can easily keep up with the boys in the playground ..... and I know boys who have babies and cooker sets! There is no need to go to the extreme to avoid stereotype toys!
...'And I could never persuade anyone in the group to come round for coffee. They just thought I was mental.' REALLY? I am surprised! |

| what an idiot. gender is determined by chemicals, biological changes and hormones, not sociological factors. he was a boy before he was born!!!
how on earth is that child going to grow up knowing his parents disagree with him having a gender??? |

| I don't understand why any parent would want to set their child up to be bullied, because that's what will happen. If you don't conform to stereotypes and kinda go with the majority the majority of the time you leave yourself open to negative comments.
Amelia has 3 diggers, a blue wheel barrow, and cars. But if I allow her to pick something she is naturally a girly girl. She is obsessed with my make up and doing her hair. She will pick something sterotypically girly over something stereotypically boyish.
I was a tom boy, played in the mud, with worms and snails, climbed tree's, was a season ticket holder at the Ice Hockey for 7 years. I prefer male company. But I'm a total girly with shopping, clothes and makeup. So I think Amelia is probably taking after me. |

Surely if they wanted him to have free choice then he should be allowed anything. She also said something about wanting him to be able to play with dolls and cars. Admittedly we don't have any dolls at home because Jamie's not that interested in them but I don't see why he has to be 'genderless' to play with them. If Jamie liked dolls then I'd buy him dolls. Poor kid |

| What a very odd thing to have done! It's all very well and good talking about having good friends and relationships but lets be honest she's probably done more harm than good! |

| They live in cloud cuckoo land if you ask me! They say they dont want to push him in any direction but encourage him to wear flowery blouses??? Lisa I reckon you have it in one. She got a boy when she wanted a girl!! Load of bollocks the first thig that came in my mind when preg was excitement, not trying to bring up some "super child!" who will be totally confused and have the pee taken out of him so much it breaks my heart thinking about it! Let's hope he is as strong willed as she says and tell them to grow the f up when he realises what they've done! Xx |
