Just a few questions lol... Anyone put their LO's on it? What age? How much milk were they taking before you put them on it? Did it constipate them/make them colicky? Did it make them go longer inbetween feeds?

Joshua is 5 weeks and was weighed today - 12lb 5oz. When the HV walked in she couldnt believe the size he was and said he is about the biggest she has ever saw a 5 week old baby & he is on par with most of the 12 week olds she see's. She happy with his development & stressed he doing great and I cant over feed him (im so paranoid about having a fat baby, I know its silly). She thought he may have been off the charts by looking at him but measured him and he 91st for weight, length & head. He is filling 0-3 month clothes nicely.

Anyhoo she suggested hungry baby milk. Previously I turned my nose up at stage 2 milk. I thought it was ppl over feeding their baby and trying too hard to get them to sleep through too early. I didnt know it actually had same amount of calories (though slightly more fat) and was harder to digest meaning they would take less oz's overall. Joshua takes 5oz's btls and maybe takes 35oz + in 24hrs. During day he feeds every 2-3 hrs & usually every 4hrs between midnight and 11am ish. This is so different to Caitlin who at 6months took 4 5oz btls a day. Joshua is 12lb 5oz at 5 weeks - Caitlin was 15lb at 5months!!!

Do you think I should switch or carry on just giving as much stage 1 as he needs?

If she suggested it I'd probably be tempted to try it. If it makes you feel better Jamie weighed more than that by that age. I'd have to find his red book to see how much but he was just under 11lb by 3 weeks and had put on 2lbs by the next time I had him weighed. I was always told you couldn't overfeed a bf baby (after they had a go at me) and I would presume its the same with bottles. I know now if Jamie's had enough he refuses it so don't worry about making Joshua fat

Anyway, back to your question. Erm if his happy I'd probably leave him but if his feeding a lot then it might be worth a try

Steak and chips?

In all seriousness though if your happy with the way he is I wouldnt change him. I had awful problems with Amelia whenever we switched milk. Only for a week or two each time but she ended up with a bad belly every time x

I wouldn't change hun, Finlay is 12lb 5 today haha.

he has 5oz bottles - sometimes less, but normally in the evening he'll have a feed at say 5 or 6 and stay awake and then have another feed at 7 or 8 so he's having 10oz over 2 hours. My dr said his weight is fine and the amount he takes is fine (he's been having 4 to 5 oz since about 2 weeks) and like Joshua goes about 3 hours in the day and can go 4,5 or 6 in the night.

Poop I went ahead and ordered hungry milk in the shopping yday. Oh well I'l try him for a cpl days and if he colicky il switch back eh?

Aww finlay and Joshua are like twins.... a month apart lol By 2 months I dread to think what he will weigh!!! This is karma for me saying before I didnt like big babies and thinking ppl overfed btl fed babys when I BF Caitlin & she was so dinky - lesson has been learnt! I cant NOT feed him as he just crys and mouths about for more the little piggy Laughing Stuart was huge as a child, not fat, just looked about 4 when he was 2. He 6ft 4 now and not one bit fat.

Had a really good sleep last nite! Brought him into my bed after his btl at 9 expecting him to wake at 1130 for btl (we usually keep him in living room until then in his chair snoozing)... and he woke at 3am Shocked I felt a bit bad sharing bed with him for that long as I worry about smothering him, anyway gave him 5oz btl and put him back in his moses basket at 4am and he slept until 915am. So in 12 hrs he was only up once for an hr! Very Happy

I changed Alfie and he got really bad colic too and even when i switched back it still didnt settlel. I had to switch him to comfort milk in the end which eventually stopped his colic. Was the worst ever! x
