lucas has got eczema on his head and belly, he did have some under his knees but i've got that under control.

he cant have anything in his bath as it causes a reaction and i'm keeping an eye on what hes eating because it can just flare up over night after days of being quite.

but hes scratching, when hes tired his tell is to scratch his head, he does it when upset etc and his poor head is sore, hes got some hair so we putting on cream on his head, which means baths every day and i find a bath a coupleo f times aweek is better for his skin,

he pulls scratch mitts off and his hands too big now, so i tried his socks and now have a clean pair of rich's on his hands while hes sleeping so his face and head doesnt look like wolverine as been into say hello.

we cut his nails every couple of days, but he still manages to scratch

just wondered if anyone had any advice,
i'm back off to the docs next week for something for the bath the hv recommended, concernly she said it was bad when i took him last week to get weighed and me and russ thought it was best its been for a while...

Stephen had a flare up of it when he was a baby and he just had oilatum in his bath and aqueous cream. When I had excema as a baby I used to have to have steroid cream to calm mine Sad I found it helped to not give Stephen too many baths as it drys his skin. Sorry can't be more help xx

Do I understand right that you think him having less baths is better but you have to bath daily cos of his creamed up head? (just wanna make sure I get ya lol)

IF that's right..you could try what I used to do with Izzy cos i dont believe in washing their skin too often anyway...and that is have Russ hold him over the bath laying on his back and just do his hair? Maybe that would help to stop his body skin losing its natural oils from lots of baths? Its bloody hard to do it on your own though!

Only on days childminders have him, they put cream in his hair to stop him scratching, although this as stopped since I gave a pair of socks to put on his hands.

We do that Lisa, or I just wet a flannel and wash his head.

Thanks lise, will have a look for that cream, we've found him being cool helps but he's now always got a cold.

I've also not give him a yoghurt in a few days and his head is clear, going to try yoghurt today and see if there's a reaction.

Thanks for responses, really appreciate them x
