Finlay has a really god bed time routine and he always settles himself after his bath, hr won't take a dream feed but can go from 7 til about 6 in the morning. However, he often wakes up any time between 2and.6 sometimes every hour. He doesn't settle himself back to sleep I have to pick him up and give him a little cuddle then put him on the other side to sleep (he is a side sleeper)

It's getting annoying now and u don't want him expecting this from me all the rime.
My step dad and oh think I should give him adummy to settle him but I'm not sure if that's just changing the issue from a cuddle to needing a dummy..

There are 2 things I want to try first, putting him in his own room, and trying a dream feed again but does anyone think a dummy might be the answer?

Hmm.. i'd say if he's settling back down with just a cuddle and not needing to comfort-suck on anything then he probably doesn't mind not having a dummy. I'm rubbish at getting my kids to sleep so i'm a bit useless for advice, but if he's wanting a cuddle for comfort, it might be worth weaning him off the cuddles and trying to comfort him without picking him up. like cupping his head and rubbing his tummy (or patting his bum if he's still on his side) so he gets used to settling himself without being on you.

He'll probably hate it at first, but if you pick him up and hold him till he's almost asleep, then pop him back down before he drifts off and pat him.. if he gets upset pick him up again and try again. It sounds a bit daft but it did help Noah at that age.

Then gradually reducing that to just sshing him next to the cot so he knows you're there but not touching him. If he gets used to that he might get better at settling himself to sleep, and giving you a good night's sleep! Hope that makes sense! Very Happy

I always worry about that with my two as they share a room, but even if noah wakes up and is shouting, Milo either doesn't notice or shouts "noisy noah, shut up!!", pulls the duvet over his head and goes back to sleep Laughing
