| What do you think: http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/llandudno/130151 Looks gorgeous inside, perfect for bean, dishwasher and garden (a must for us!) close to beaches and if weather's pants it's close to amenities, leisure centre etc. - but haven't visited the area before? Any self catering we have done before has always been out in the sticks and detached - this is very different for us - but apparently it's an old lady who lives next door and tennis courts opposite?! It's only about an hour and half away but a bit pricey I guess at about £65 a night - for which you could get a hotel but don't have home comforts Any thoughts? |

| Thanks Lisa, I know - it's more like you'd see on a house swap isn't it? Looks a lot less cluttered than our house though Did you click on 'all photos' too - I'm just finding the modern and clean look really appealing with baby, just trying to weigh up if it's the place to go although would only make it a short break anyway |

| I hadnt but have now
Persoanlly I would pay the same as a hotel if not more to stay in a 'home' - I HATE hotels ,having spent so many nights away with work bored stiff and limited to the bedroom, the bar or the lobby arghhhhh |

| I know - and the worry of noise gets me too plus the time restrictions for breakfast etc. yak. Just need to look at bit more at the area - never been - it's just outside Llandudno http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=clarence%20street%20llandudno&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl And no idea if it's blackpool-esq or whitby-esq (both sides of the country there!) so want to read up a bit more and see if it's comfort over location or if we have managed both there! |

| Erm, whether Llandudno is a dive?! Possibly a bit harsh - - maybe just if it's a nice place to visit, if there are good beaches or are you better traveling out a bit for those, and whether there are good places to go (with a little one) if it's rubbish weather. Much appreciated! |

| Ive just spoke to my mum who said....... - Its not a dive, its a lovely place - The beach is ok but nothing special, especially the time of year you are looking to go - The weather in llandudno is exactly the same as here in Manchester (where are you?) - Its a very popular holiday resort but its aimed more at older people ie. elderley - There are loads of shops but not much else
She said it depends really what you are looking for? if you want a nice relaxing laid back week away just for change of scenery then you will like it
But if you want some where with lots of activities and things to do with your little one then its not the place to go.
if you want any more info or suggestions of where is nice to visit in wales then let me know
hope ive helped

| Thanks so much! Am loving that it's suitable for the elderly - my kind of spot By things to do with little one it's more like nice open spaces like parks / green space - and a nice swimming pool if all else fails weather-wise (we're in Cheshire btw). We've been further south in Wales before but looking for somewhere closer to hand, so it's looking like the place for us! Only thinking of a few days stay so like you say it's just a change of scenery while still wanting somewhere nice - hence the house! Thank you again, how random must your mum have thought that phone call was Some flowers for you ---> xx |

| Ooo that looks very nice. We are off to Wales in sept this year for our first holiday and have found this lovely little cottage on a farm and got a good price to as its obv out of 'season' the lady seems so helpful and they supply a travel cot and highchair so saves us having to fit them in too. Im really looking forward to it, its self catering obv and seems pretty child friendly and has loads of things to do round us. http://www.troedyrhiw.com/the%20holiday%20cottages.htm - thats where we are staying (in gorse cottage i think) xx |
