| Subject: Centile Lines.... Sat Sep 18, 2010 11:44 pm | |
When Aimee was having her scan/check up yesterday, they did her usual checks for weight and height. She is on the 91st Centile for height and the same for weight. Im guessing that if she is taller, then she will obviously weigh a little more? am I right? She certainly isnt fat and has a good diet. She is still on her SMA High Energy from when she was born (she has a bottle first and last thing). I have tried to change her over to cows milk, but she wont have a bar of it, so am just keeping her as it is for now, as she can have it until 36 months. I just mentioned this to my dad and he said she was 'stocky' but not fat! x

Aw don't worry about her weight hun, if she's on the 91st centile for both then to me that sounds like she's in proportion. xx

the taller they are then obviously they will be a bit heavier lily-ann is very longlegged and is super high on the centiles...and her weight is 28lbs...more than the average child her age, but she's perfectly in proportion i think they worry too much about centiles, as long as she looks a healthy weight then am sure she's fine

yes my hv said as long as they are on the same(more or less) centile for height and weight then there is no problem...see i think oliver looks quite chunky but he is on the 25th for height and between the 9th and 25th for weight leo was weighed at school the other week and he was on the 75th centile for weight and 50th for height, which says to me he is slightly over weight, but there is no way he is, he's a skinny minny lol, as long as they are healthy and not obviousley too skinny or overweight then i wouldnt worry anyway x

Aw bless her, I'm sure she's absolutely fine. After you posted this I checked Libby's book and she's between the 2nd the 9th centile for both height and weight

What i was told was as long as they continue to follow the same lines and not jump up/down more than two lines its fine. Sophia is 98th for height and 50th for weight which she has followed all the way since about a month after birth so not concerned at all. She certainly does not look under or over weight, all in proportion. Your lo sounds fine to me. MAndy xx

C is 25th for height and 2-9th for weight! Shes long and skinny. Ive just started putting 12-18 clothes on her purely cos of length of her legs, if i went by waist she would be in 6-9 month trews at half mast but perfectly fitted round the middle

I'd say she was doing great Laura. Amelia's just below the 25th for weight but above the 91st for height and the HV said she was "underweight". I couldn't get more food into if I tried though! x
