I am so mad right now!! Sam has been Ill for about 4 weeks on and off and the last 2 weeks has been being sick.
So we took him to the GP last week. Oh he's fine he says just a viral infection! Gave him paracetomol. Surprise surprise.
So tonight after another day of puking (in a pub too where everyone was eating! Great! And yet more bedding to throw away tonight) I rang nhs direct. They were very concerned and told me to go to out of hrs surgery which is in the a & e department. The doctor had a good look at him, temerature was 39, chest rattling like a good en they suspected pneumonia!!!
They sent us round to a & e and told me they were keeping us in and he needed a chest X-ray.
Luckily the kids doctor didnt think it was but he has a chest throat and ear infection!!!! So they have took a throat swab, dosed him up on calpol and given him a weeks worth of anti b's. He has to go back in 2 days.

AnyWay my actual rant was about GPs and how they bloody pass everything off as a viral infection!!! Good bloody job the hospital take these things seriously but it's a twat when you have to go to the hospital because the doctors are so shit!!!!

They say it cos there is nothing really to treat a viral infection, so they just pass them off rather than look further!

Happened the same with Izzy and she had a chest and throat infection- but it took 2 visits to out of hours to be told viral infection, it getting much worse..then her breathing got so bad she was given an inhaler by a GP. Thankfully GP was good!

I hope he gets better now he is on the antid b's

frigging doctors drive me insane!! they have a reduced slot times now in my surgers. stoopid doc left a memo out and me inthe room my self.. i was on oxygen thou lol!! for a double appointment u get a whole 15 mins but aim to be in and out in 10 and a regular appointment u get 10 mins max but aim to have u in and out in 5!! to accomodate the ever growing list of patients to be seen in a day :@ argh

Oh my goodness, hope sam starts to feel better soon! Gps are so quick to pass things off as a viral infection now rather than looking into it. Which is disgraceful XX

Glad he is getting the treatment he needs and is on the mend soon. Im lucky really cos all my gp docs know im a nurse and dont try and fob me off cos i argue the toss if they do but its not on still when they are clearly trying to rush you out the door in 2 mins flat without a full history

stupid feking doctors!!! mine did the same with lewis...turned out he had throat, eat and chest infection

Gps are useless they cant wait to get u in and out. Ive tooken callum before they even check his ears i had to ask before we left incase and it was a ear infection.
