Was just wondering as you guys have been there, done that, bought the dress etc - do you have any tips? suggestions? advice? for all us rookies All you old marrieds ;) Icon_lol

Did you make any mistakes that we can learn from? or anything that went well that you would recommend? Anything you would do differently if you did it all over again? Anything you wouldn't have changed for the world?

Look forward to any hints and tips coz it's such a blummin minefield tbh All you old marrieds ;) Icon_rolleyes

No tips but pretty much all of my wedding I would do again, my biggest regret was not having enough money, it was all done to cheap and too much like hard work, I wish I had more money that I could have put into it so that my family didn't have to decorate the hall in the morning of the wedding, they also put all the buffet food out, cleared up the dinner plates, and family also served people at the bar (we could only afford a hall so had to lay on everything separately ourself).

My sister is getting married in 2012 (9 years after mine) and she has already picked her venue which comes with a wedding co-ordinator - so jealous wish I could have waited but just wanted to start a family!

One of my biggest tips is if anybody offers to help...take it. I was silly enough to think I could do it all myself and I completely stressed myself out. My husband said I was a different person leading up to the wedding xx

I made a listof expected costs and actual costs so i knew how much everything was and how much money i had left.

If you dont have much money to spend - try having your wedding later in the day so you dont have to pay for 2 meals. Or what we did was get married at 3pm and had a little few finger foods on for people about 5.30 back at the venue when we got back. Then we had a buffet on the night time at about 8pm.

Favours - we used lottery tickets (only £1 each for a lucky dip)

Invitations - we made ourselves

Table decorations - daytime we had a single flower in a small vase. night time - we bought a round goldfish bowl and filled it with sweeties (humbugs, jellies, lollypops which wasnt too expensive)

Cake - Marks and Spencers do really nice wedding cakes for a decent price.

Rather than presents ask for money as a wedding gift which can be put towards your honeymoon!.

My only regret about my wedding is hiring that particular photographer. We only got half our pics on a cd rom and we still havent even got the rest of them and a album yet and weve been married for about 14 months!

i not long got married a month yesterday ahhhh scary.

i have a few regrets...
we had a markee and where my £600 cake was it started it leak as we had a down pour on to the cake when i walked in the markee they moved the cake i wasn't so happy i walked in cursing and swearing at the lady who moved it as it was moved center of the main table. so i wish i chosse a diff venue.

cause we had a massive wedding 150 in church and extra 100 ppl in eve.

had a sit down meal and that was fine.
eve buffet there wasn't enough food.(i let my mum deal with that)
the DJ would listern to me when i said dont play shit
i think that was it really

the photographer didn't take hardly any natural photos they were mainly stage which i am really gutted.

tips... dont take no shit its your day if you want something have it cause you will regret it....be calm unlike me i cried all the way through and had no make up ready after lol.
and wear comfy underweare
and bargin hunt for everything cause its expensive.

my wedding cost 10K :O
