| We've had an awful week or so with bean having bad diarrhoea and off his food very upset and clingy - not sleeping well either! Then me being sick, then hubby being laid up with it, my spd flared up from doing too much... Little one is still not right and I've now got a stonking cold Anyway, this morning went to the loo about 5am and my belly has not stopped aching since It's very like period pain but could also be described as a cross between needing the loo and trapped wind... I'm having no pain when weeing and - sorry - no2'd fine also Listening in on doppler and pip is kicking and swishing about and can her heartbeat ok. Rang hospital and MW said didn't sound pregnancy related, could be gastic or water infection ? so off to gp this evening. But she didn't actually ask me that much, maybe because I'm 22wks?! I came off the phone thinking that she didn't actually know enough to rule out anything pg related, she only enquired if there was any "loss" (discharge? blood?) down below, which there isn't. Nothing about duration of pain or severity or location... I've just taken paracetamol reluctantly because although I want to 'feel' any changes etc. this constant pain is wiping me out! It's very contraction like in that it is coming and going in waves though - although it is mild, like the start of a period. It's almost like an ache up and to one side of my vagina, making my belly ache and making my bits kindof uncomfy too. I've been sneezing a bit and blowing nose but I'd have thought if I'd pulled something that it would be more central or at least stay the same rather than stabs of pain?! Sorry to pick your brains on such a delightful subject but all I can find info on is early pg pains then things like bleeding later on in pg - nothing about cramping. Surely water infection would hurt / burn when weeing though?! Or I'd have kidney pain as well? (which I haven't). God damn google images which didn't make my head a very nice place to be in the wee hours this morning; worried about pip, she's not cooked yet Please help

| I have had every pain, ache and feeling going in this pregnancy. I would see how it goes and go to the GP later. I remember having lots of pains around the same time as I also thought maybe a water infection, but I spoke to my midwife who tested my urine and I was fine. I went a few weeks later xx |

| Thanks ladies; going to take a pot of pee with me just in case - trying to aim in one of those test tube efforts is hard enough without being in a poky gp's loo too! Laura - is that a type-o and should be 'it went'? Paracetamol appears to be doing nothing but she's having a wriggle about atm which is reassuring (I think). I'm home with no car so will just have to ride it out until hubby gets home to get to gp's - was thinking of going to hospital 1st thing but the sharper pain subsided. I was just lying in bed with my toes curling and thinking that's how it started with bean - but that was at 41wks not 22 |

| Does sound a bit like urine infection or possibly a brewing stomach upset to me but hope it gets sorted soon |

| Hoping so too. It's right down where baby is though, but I guess that's where bladder is too so may be easy to confuse off to rest up and see how it goes. I know you never really stop knicker watching but this is another level I thought we'd passed already x |

| Thanks angel. GP had a good check and said baby seems ok, had a feel of belly and listened in on doppler. She said if anything to do with cervix there would likely be bleeding, that contraction type pain wouldn't be as one sided (generally speaking?) and anything like appendix would be more painful to the touch. Then she did dip-stick on urine and said it was showing a bit of blood in? So sent the rest off for testing, to call back on Friday. Weird though as no pain on weeing, no kidney pain etc. Said in the meantime to go back if any more pain and she would do an internal (said she didn't like to interfere too much so to give it a bit longer first) and obviously if anything contraction-like to go straight to hospital. Paracetamol in the meantime and cross fingers and say a prayer that it goes as quickly as it came?!! I thought she may mention 'round ligament pain' which was one of the things that I'd come across but she didn't say anything about it All-in-all I feel like I have constant period pain but can't take stronger pain killers and can't curl up in a ball / use a hot water bottle either - so going to try a bath later. Weird thing is, since having bean, paracetamol is all I needed to take period pain away - yet now it's doing beggar all? It aaaaaaches so I'm no wuss and know the pain your body can go through in labour obviously but this kind of constant low-level pain is doing my bits in - literally! |

| Hey hun, sorry it was meant to say 'it'.
As for the period type pain, I'm getting them all the time and have done for a good few weeks. My midwife didn't seem fussed as they are not regular x |

| Glad the doc took your concerns seriously! I know for definite that you can have a UTI and no pain as the one I had recently wasn't painful! I also spent an exciting day at the hospital being monitored due to random pains that paracetamol doesn't touch! |
