| I think most people hate liars - don't you?! Of course we all tell white lies now and again - sometimes its easier to tell a fib than to tell the truth and then have to deal with the whole thing that erupts from that...like 'who ate my cake?!' ...'the dog'...its just easier to blame the dog than your OH to get mad with you for stealing it!!! Its a spur of the moment porky pie to get you out of a tight spot...like that time you thought you'd run to the shop and not get a ticket for the car park...then forgot and was 30 mins...but when you get back and the fella is about to write you a ticket you come out with a sob story and you were only gone 5 minutes ....to save £40 fine I've not done this but I don't blame anyone for trying!!! What I can not stand though is a premeditated lie - a whole story to suit the situation. As in someone makes up a fake person to pretend to be them on a forum, fake name, age, life, pregnancy etc....a whole made up life. My friends BF has been cheating on her, she found out on Friday but it now seems he has been making stories up the whole time to get away with cheating - disgusting! Or those who just make stories up there and then to sound 'good'?! My evil Step MIL is one of those - she will make up a story right there and then in front of you because it makes her (in her mind) sound better in the conversation...most of the time my FIL lets it go and just rolls his eyes, but sometimes he picks her up and she tries to lie her way out of it...its pathetic and I just don't know why she does it! Of course I can't do a lot about her - well she is moving to the US for 3 years so we wont see her often hahaha The other kind though - cant stand them - find it almost impossible to give them a second chance - how would you ever know to trust a word they say?! |

| i hate liars, the first ones you mentiond about going on to forums and making up whole lives and pregnancies ect...im sure half of them must be kids, or really messed up adults with no life especially the sick ones who make up sick stories, things that real people have to go through such as mc, losing a child or someone being critically ill in hospital or some other drama, i mean seriousley what do they get out of it?? yeah they get sympathy if theire not sussed...but its not real??? so confued. it also makes people who have real dramas and need to speak/rant a bit reluctent to post incase people think theyre bullshitting too and its not fair i am a rubbish liar, couldnt even lie to my mum at the age of 16 when she asked if i was sexually active i just cant lie at all...ok maybe the little white lie here and there 'yes that dress is lovley ' or 'sorry im late, i was stuck in traffic'*was actually streightening my hair* some one was telling me a story about labour once, she was saying she had the gas in one hand and the air in the other thing is she really does have 2 kids so why she felt the need to make something weird up like that?? my cousine is also a bad liar, i wont even start on the things she makes up, but i never believe anything she says. think she does it to make her sound 'cool' |

| My ex husband is a liar, he told stupid lies for no reason all of the time! For example he'd get up look out of the window and say oooh it's peeing down out there! It actually wasn't raining at all but he couldn't help lying. I got to the point were I never believed a word he said about anything ever!
I hate lies now - i tell my kids I'd much rather have the truth no matter how bad it is than them cover up with a lie.
Because of my ex husband, I'm also not very trusting and often don't believe things even when they're true.
But those that lie on forums are just very sad people! |

| I totally agree with you! Before I met James I dated a guy a few times who was a complete liar and it was so obvious! Some of the stuff he came out with was just pathetic! Here were a few: He told me that he fellin his mums grave at her funeral as it was raining heavily and really muddy - complete bullcrap! He said that he hadnt heard from his little brother for 10 years and then two weeks later 'he got in contact' - more bullcrap! He then told me that he hadnt slept with anybody else since he had split up with his previous girlfriend... then it turned out that he slept with one of my friends friends (before we met, so nothing worth lying about) - more bullcrap! See a pattern emerging? Im not even sure his mum had even passed away tbh! I didnt even do him the decency of telling him to bugger off to his face... he got a text! |

| i hate liars...ok, i'll tell little white lies, but my brother has spent 10yrs cheating on his wife and lying through his teeth, even going so far as to secretly pass his dad money and they ask to 'borrow' some cash in front of the wife...cos he's been lying about how much wages he gets and stashes it. my 'stepdad' once asked his partner 'is the washing machine working ok??' it wasn't and he knew that but she said yeh and when asked to do him some washing went and put on the food mixer!!! she really thought he'd believe the lie...totally baffled me i just don't understand the motivation to make up sh*t, to be a good liar you have to have a great memory and alot of people don't |

| I tried to live without telling any kind of 'mistruth' or lie, even white ones, it's pretty much impossible I think...but then I also think there is no such thing as 'truth' - it is always subjective to an extent and no truth is 100% the same to another person so...yeah i hate liars and i won't tolerate them in my life, but i also accept that we are all probably liars |

| I HATE liars!!! I have sometimes told the 'little white lie' for example, my scan appointment on monday was 9:45am, but because Simon works in the morning he had to juggle his work and go back after we got home, which meant I couldn't go to work so I told my bosses the appointment was 2:45pm so I could have the afternoon off to look after Libby People who dramatise their lives or lie about terrible things that have happened to them really do piss me off, I don't understand why they would want to do it? |

| as everyone said we all tell lies sometimes, im making up all sorts to get a better deal at work but i don't feel bad about it , its when its so blatant and pointless that i get irked by it , on forums i can take it with a pinch of salt its when people you know do it to your face and you know it's total BS. |

| I just feel it takes alot of work to be a liar, you have to remember everything you tell people, especially if it isnt the same story - I dont see it being worth it. Just tell the truth dammit - we will appreciate it more!!!!! |

| I hate liars too. Im also guilty for tellin lil lies like when i was workin i need to leave earlier today because i got docs appointments so i wasent kept at work they never let us out on time i was always shattered. and if somethings broken or if i told some1 something i shouldnt altho i always seem to get found appantley i have a face where u can tell if im lying or i end up laughing x I havent got the memory or brains to lie properly xxx
I think ppl lie because theyre so fed up off there lives they have to make something up to be interesting, as for the sick people i have no idea why they make so horrid lies up xx |

| Liars always get found out - usually catch themselves out and it's pretty cringeworthy when they do. Don't get me wrong I'm no saint and have told the odd White lie mainly to work. But to go out your way to make a whole load of bs up is just wrong especially on places like forums where we all support and rant and advise each other on. It's not fair on the genuine ppl out there who do need support and believe these liars and get sucked into their little fantasy X |

| i know i blatant liar. we all know it but dont say anything to her. simply cause she will have an even bigger whopper to tell. she flits from 1 group of people to another. wears people down. its draining, keeping up with the dramas. i sometimes think if she just stuck to the same story she might be a little bit believable..... its just her way and we sorta accept it. because its just not worth the fight! |
