| I always said I wanted to ttc in Jan, but now im thinking I probably wont due to hopefully starting work in the next few months and also my friend lost her daughter in June a few hrs after she was born at 40wks and as silly as it sounds, Id like her to have a 2nd baby first..... Anyway, Im poop at remembering to take the pill. Iv gotten worse recently and am probably at best taking 2 every other day. I had 2 periods last month due to the fact I forgot to take it about 4 days in a row. If I dont wise up im gonna end up with a happy accident (It wouldnt be end of world I know). Im on cerazette and not having any side effects. My 3 questions about Implant... 1. Does it hurt getting it in? 2.Does it hurt getting it out? (I think this sounds worse!) 3. How long does it take for fertility to return? (Would still like to ttc at some stage in the next 6-18mths) Oh and actually.. 4. Does it make you a fat moody cow? I had the injection before and turned into a fat crying lump for 6months! Thanks. x |

| It turned me into a fat moody cow, I put on 2 stone and disn't eat any differently! It doesn't hurt more uncomfortable, I had it taken out after 6 months because I bled constantly, apparently it quite common but having a 6 month period was awful, id never reccomend having it to anyone.
It's lovely of you to think of your friend though x |

| The only bit that hurts is when they stick the needle in to numb it, after that you don't feel a thing, same as when they take it out. It turned me in a pyscho, i bled constantly for a year. I begged for it out so many times but they kept telling me to wait it out cause it will get better but it never did |

| I went to Family Planning a few months back to ask about the implant and because I had plans to TTC in year/18months (I was obviously still with ex at the time) she didn't advise it. She told me that they implant costs £100 each and they only really wanna give them to the people that will keep it in the full 3 years. Like u i'm shit at remembering the pill, so she suggested the patch - similar to the pill but u change it once a week. WOrth considering! xx |

| Ok... for some reason I think i might not be getting it The patch sounds good Jo. Any side effects? Iv heard of it before but for some reason assumed it wasnt an option in NI. Did you get it from your GP or FP clinic? Anyone else any ideas? x |

| Nope wouldnt go there again. I got it twice when I was 18/19 and I put on loads of weight and cried constantly. It was like I had PMT every day. It was in my system for 6 months eg had 2 injections 3 mths apart and my periods didnt come back for 9mths. Was good not having them back then but if I wanted to ttc Id worry my fertility could take a year to come back. Just read chars post about the coil so i dont think i could do that either. Patch sounding good. Or else I just wise up and remember to take the damn pill! x |

| My friend swears by the patch, my only worry with it would be it falling off! She says it never has but the only experience I've had with patches are the nicotine ones and it looks like them so I'm sceptical lol |

| Family planning don't do it, they said it's available from ur GP on prescription. I ended up with gynae probs and GP didn't want to put me on any contraception cos he wanted to see if it was hormone related so I didn't get it. Once I get hosp appointment I'm gonna go back and get it tho. He told me it's very similar to the pill. I'm not keen on getting anything internal or anything that takes time to wear off. At least if ur not getting on with the pill or patch u can just stop using them. http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/sex_relationships/contraceptivepatch_000173.htm xx |
