i have hunted hi and low for mine and cant find it.. everyone elses is there though .. so i have to get a replacement one and also change my name on it!! i havnt a clue what forms i need for both ?i rang the helpline an dit confused me more.. apparently if i have alost one i need my parents details or there passports details. i dont talk to them grrrr

If you need your parents details then it will be birth certificates and you don't need to be speaking to them you can just got to the registry office and buy them x

i know there names but they want passport numbers and stuff.. all because i cant find my current one.. dont see why they need it ..

What if they didn't have a passport?

i dunno.. i an very confused..i didnt change my name when i got married 5 years ago as i havnt been abroad since and i forgot about it.. not i have booked 2 holidays inmy maiden name.. so when i replace it ..i will just have to have it in my maiden name and not change to my married name as then i got to change the name on my holiday booking grr.. i wish i was more on top of theses things lol

hun, i do a lot of passports for work and never put parents passport number on, mainly becuase they wont give me it or simply dont have one.

there is a special form if you have to fill in if you lost it, also your passport number could be on any holiday invoices you have if you needed it to book.

i hate doing passports they a nightmare, hope you get it sorted

the last time i used my passport was in 2005.. i have nothing with any details on .. is it ok to keep it as my maiden name unitl it needs re newing 2013 ?

depends where you are travelling, you are 'supposed to' update it to your current legal name but can get away with not doing it in some places, but for example if you were going to the states you might run in to trouble especially if they want to check your finances (they are nosey over there) cos if they ask what cards you have and your credit card etc had a different name they would be funny and might not let you in

You probably couldn't hire a car cos they check your passport to your driving licence

I reckon most other places it wouldn't be a problem though

its just to costa del sol and tenerief!! 4 days in march and ten days in may.. im thinking rather than cahnge everything and replace .. just replace it then do it all in 3 years time !
