| right...well i planned my wedding 3yrs ago before i fell pregnant with lily-ann but it never happened(lack of cash and a belly bump!) i asked my brother's partner to be maid of honour and she proper took over telling me what i couldn't have/do and planning what dress i was gonna wear, took over the cake etc 3yrs on the wedding is booked but i've just emailed the 'maid of honour' with: 'hi hun, just letting you know my wedding is booked for 15th jan!! i know i originally asked you to be maid of honour, i hope you're not offended but i've put you down as a normal guest as i want you to sit back, relax and enjoy a fantastic day with ian with no stresses!...please don't be offended' does that sound bad?? i really am not in the mood to piss people off or have them offended xxx |

| Ooooh I admire how honest and up front you are!
Me? I'd say nothing and then just make up a lame excuse like "well to be honest, now that we have the kids etc I was just going to have something low key and thought id rather have you enjoy self".
I can be quite flakey when it suits!
Kenty you always come across as a lovely, honest person so if it feels right to you, go with it.

| I think you have been lovely letting her know in a polite way..you could have just avoided the situation. Anyway. it's your day and if some people don't like what you are doing or the things you have picked then TOUGH as it is YOUR day xx |

| ah carla...i wish it wasn't about my family...but apparently it is! i've got some whinging about having to pay hotel fees, some demanding that if i buy bridesmaid dresses i have to buy matching shoes and a make up artist, one bridesmaid(my sister) constantly trying to take over and get one up on the other bridesmaid...if it wasn't booked and deposit paid i'd definitely say f*ck it! |

| Tell em to get stuffed!! ALL my bridesmaids bought their own dresses shoes etc (apart from Lottie I bought hers). I told them they could be bridesmaides but had to buy their own dresses etc as I simply couldn't afford it and they were all fine about it, expect my not so nice sister. She didn't come to the wedding until 9.30pm (I got married at 1pm!!) but TBH she wasn't missed. xx |

| No hun you are just right. At the end of the day it is your's and Sam's day so its up to you who you have as a bridesmaid.
I think I would look ok in a bridesmaid dress (hint Hint|) pmsl

| i really don't mind buying the dresses, and have even said i'll pay for a make up artist on the day...but my sister has basically told me i'm buying the shoes and is even hinting at a little matching handbag now you girls know i've got about 8k to pay for this wedding(then the full 25k is gone!) but i've told all my family that i'm skint and paying everything in instalments etc and not one of them has offered to buy their own dresses |

| Get them told!!!!!!! they know you aren't working and if they don't know about the rest of the money then how do they think you are paying for it! Don't be scared to upset them hun, they are obv not worried about upsetting you!!! If you offer to buy the dresses then TELL them they have to buy everything else themselves....I know lots of people that have done this! xx |
