I live in a small town, about 5k ppl. during the summer and balloons to about 15k in the winter. We have a weekly local newspaper that comes out every Wednesday that I look forward to it's Police Beat section written by our Staff Sergeant about the on-goings in town, usually drinking and driving and minor infractions are the usual stories. BUT, this week, I was shocked to read about a situation here in town that just blew me away. According to the article, a 21 woman and her female companion were drinking at a local watering hole and decided to leave. They were walking past a cheap dirty local motel, where a 42 year old man assaulted her companion by punching her several times in the face, and grabbed the 21 year old victim by the arm forcing her into his room. He threatened her to have sex with him as he is affiliated with a well known out law biker gang and if she didn't comply, she would be never seen or heard from again. Under fear of this, she unwillingly had sex with him. Her friend ran off to get help, and the police arrived not much later to the motel and were brought into the room, the young lady was laying unclothed next to the man in the bed sobbing as she mouthed the words "help me..help me" to the police. The suspect was taken into custody for a few days but was RELEASED with the promise he would leave the community(banished) until his court date. Now correct me if I am wrong..would he not be guilty of unlawful confinement or kidnapping, assault, and rape? Why the hell was he released back into society? Just sickened by this!

Thats awful poor girl. Yes it would be assault, rape, false imprisonment etc and i would like to think he would be remanded in custody until trial x

I cant believe he was released either I understand the whole innocent until proven guilty concept (a family member was wrongly accused of rape a few years ago & it was a hard time for us all), but the fact he was caught in the act almost & let go is beyond belief!

How the Hell could they let him go, he's a danger toevery woman he meets

Am gonna try to get a group of ppl together to appear outside the courthouse when his scheduled trial is suppose to start. I think this town needs a huge wake up call. Perhaps an angry welcome back committee is what is required.
