We're with direct line but after a very rude and downright impetuous customer service rep. dealt with me I want to change - I complained about her and they said as a result of her attitude (and if I left them) - they wouldn't charge a cancellation fee. Result?! But only if there are better elsewhere... we're with them for price but also the no-claims-for-named-drivers thing - just wondering who you're with for reference?! Ta muchly xx

Can't help sorry we're with direct line. We tried to change before but actually found because of the set up charge for direct debits we'd actually be worse of changing. If we paid it all upfront i think Tesco were the best deal. I've heard they're quite good too.

Well I work for an insurance broker and TBH I woud NEVER go direct - the service is usually poor and you don't get any advice!! The actual insurer I'm with is Ageas (was Fortis) and they are great - I'm so picky with who I have my insurance through though. xx

Tesco are underwritten / sister co.'s with direct line - and we had tesco and they were pants too! Had intended to avoid direct line for that reason but they came out cheaper by some way...

We were with the post office but only for a year - they put the price up and didn't seem interested in keeping our custom, which was a shame.

Will check LV & Abbey ...

I would do another money supermarket / go compare type thing - but last time I did an experian credit check it had a search on by one of those companies?! Cheeky beggars, why would your credit rating affect insurance quotes?!

Im with Churchill - very good. Always have good customer service and no problems contacting them. Ive got free breakdown recovery with them too.

i get the cheapest quotes from Elephant who are owned by Admiral and i've been with Admiral for 4/5 years. always great to deal with on the phone but i've only had to speak to them regarding renewal, i've never claimed. they do multi-car too

My cheapest quote was with Esure and so far I've been really pleased with them. They'd increased my renewal so I went on confused.com and their quote came up much cheaper so I phoned them and they honoured it without a second thought. I haven't had to make a claim though. I was with Directline and they were rubbish, rude and expensive.

Can't be doing with finding quotes - methinks this is why people find one and stick with it!!! What a faff... surprised they don't ask how often the car is washed / whether you use the interior lights to put on make up / what your favourite colour is.....

I'm with admiral and they were fab when some idiot nearly wrote off out car, can't fault them at all! I would avoid RAC like the plague though, they wouldn't provide business cover for us as me and oh aret married, then tried to charge us for canceling the policy and messed up loads of our details. Although they gace us £120 compensation in the end, so it wasn't all bad

I'm with Swift Cover, not has to claim so can't comment but they were cheap.

I'm with Bell and they've been really good although we haven't made a claim. I'd avoid Tesco btw, they caused us loads of problems and were really expensive! xx
