hmmm well we measured elijah (length) last night after reading something about it on here cos we are nosy and we ended up with 72cm??????? but that makes elijah above the 98.6 centile line for his age??! he definitely isn't *that* long although he is quite long, so what did we do wrong, maybe i pulled the tape over his tummy and got an extra few cm...or maybe you don't do it from the toes but the heels (hubby insisted it was toes) hmm any clues?

Lie him on the floor with his head up against something solid (skirting board e.g.) then lie him out flat and put something straight / flat where his heels are (a book or similar!) then measure the gap - after letting the little man loose again xx

| Oh and gently straighten legs / knees when measuring x (GENTLY the word the bloody nurse should learn at the children's centre when measuring - who rammed his knees down onto the table )

yeah it is from top of head to heels, if you ask hv to do it when they weighed they do it. Kieran is short, had him measured again today (he measured a lot, cozz he is so short)and he has grown a cm, so he 64cm, and he also off the chart, just the lower end lol xXx

Yep top of head to heels. Do it like Grace said and that should help. Definitely much easier when they can stand though!

I used to lay him on the floor, head against something solid. With no nappy on, gently lay his legs against the floor and i'd mark with a book against the heels. Move baby and measure the distance between the wall and book Although I did find it a 2 person job I did oliver's the other day and he's 88cm now, his growing is really slowing down.

I've not done Izzy since she's been walking, the last time I did it we laid her on the changing table, then put her heels to the one and and measured up to her head - it took 2 of us though!
