:'( my poor babs! _
PostSubject: :'( my poor babs!   :'( my poor babs! EmptyTue Oct 26, 2010 7:32 pm

Alice has been in the 'big room' at nursery for a few weeks now and seemed to have settled fine,
last week Adam dropped her off and she was fine, he picked her up and they said she had cried all morning, this week he has dropped her off and she has cried as soon as they got to the door Sad

I am so upset this morning, i dont know what to do for the best, my inclination is its because i am at home with Edith as they havent said anything else has upset her dont know what to do for the best, should i leave her and hope it gets better or do i take her out until i go back to work knowing that its going to start all over again then.

we can just about afford to keep her in but tbh £85 would be better in my pocket while on mat leave if she is going to be so upset everyweek.

advice please

Hmmmm, very hard.

Aimee hasnt been to nursery yet, so I will be keeping her at home with me and just taking her to mums and tots sessions so she can socialise with other children.

I agree that there is no point in spending that much money if she is going to get upset.

Could you possibly look at reducing her days/hours so she doesnt feel like she is there as often?

Mmmm well Jo if i am honest hun and i always am lol, i would take her out and keep her at home. Simply because i would begrudge paying that money when i was at home (i know tight arse)
Plus she will be almost a year older by the time you put her back in and able to cope/understand better and will probs appreciate it more, and i would imagine Edith will be going too so she wont feel like shes missing out at home xxx

she only does 1 morning per week Laura i wanted to leave her in so i got some time with edith and we didnt have to start the crying again when i go back to work, she cried for weeks when i first went back.
That was because Adams redundancy meant that we were both home all the time and we hadnt needed anyone else to look after her as we had managed between us.
i just dont know what to do to, i know in the short term taking her out would be fine but will it just make things doubly bad when its time to go back to work scratch

Will Edith be going to the same one when you go back to work?

She may actually be ok if you did take her out and then take her back, with Edith, as she could then be 'big sister' and think she is there to look after Edith.

£85 is so much money to pay out if she is getting upset and not enjoying herself.

personally i would take her out, £85 a month is a lot when you are at home, and when she turns 2, in 5 months then you could look at getting her into a pre-school so she will be going back to a different place and one morning a week would only cost you around £35 a month! Also if she goes to the pre-school connected to the actual school you are thinking of taking her then she wont have to 'move' again a such cos it will be the same children so it might not be as strange for them?

I'd take it out, I can see the reasoning for keeping her there but if she isn't enjoying it then £85 is alot of money x

Awwww hun - Lottie did the same thing (though she was a little older) just before I had Abbie and this carried on for a few weeks until after she was born, but eventually she settled down. Don't feel guilty which every way you decide to do it

^ Pepper makes good sense, it's to be expected and prob won't improve anytime soon so it's either riding it out or having her at home. With £85 a week you also could afford to go to playplaces, days out, buy more things to entertain her (and baby friends?) from home... so I'd be inclined to say take her out of nursery... not an easy decision though as you & Edith time must be nice - but are they telling you this is every time? Is she settling down eventually? I'd have expected a call if my little was was crying all morning scratch Sorry, just re-read and not sure that constitutes as 'advice' Laughing xx
