| Erm? I've never done it myself but my parents remodled their old house and did something similar. It wasn't a massive job from what I could see coz they just put up a studded partition with a bit of plaster and paint - voila! I suppose it is dependant on the size and lay out of the room in question - where the door/window/electric points/light rose and switch/radiators etc. If you can partition it without having to move anything major then Im sure it would be simple. xx |

| I did this in my first house. It wasnt council or anything so didnt get permission. We basically created a little corridor and put in a partition wall so they each had their own door. It was quite easy actually hun xxx |

| I thought that it would increase council tax too laura but apparently it only increases if you increase the square footage of your property - i.e. add an extension and even then it doesn't get rebanded until the property is involved in a financial transaction - i.e. sold, remortgaged etc. We found this when we bought our house last year - the previous owner had put a huge extension on (which is great) but the council tax band he was in wa still for a small two bed - so when we moved in we had the council ringing up within the week wanting to reband us. Happy new home oh and btw you owe us a few hundred pound in extra council tax, nice! xx |

| Spooky I was going to ask the exact same question. MJ's room is 12 foot something long by 10 ft 3 inches deep and was thinking of halfing it with a stud wall so Drew could have his own little space and I was going to ask about windows etc... x |

| Its a very easy job if you have windows, electric sockets, light fittings and radiators in the right place!
My parents old farmhouse had a HUGE bedroom that wrapped around the chimney thingy in the wall - they put up a stud wall in but it had everything as above already as it was such a big room.
Of course had they needed to knock a window out and add a radiator etc then the whole thing would have been a bigger job (well my dads a building contractor but you know what I mean!) |
