| Just wondering, for weaning, I can see how the portion pots might be handy, but do you need the bowls and cutlery and stuff? A soft spoon yeah, but how much of all the stuff available is necessary??? |

| tbh i hardly use plates or bowls. The bowls i bought were just standard plastic picnic ones - 5 for a £1. If i give Cerys a plate, she flings it. She eats off her tray at the mo You can get plates that stick to the highchair tray and i will be getting them soon. I dont want her still eating off the table when she's 16 . We use plastic spoons and forks so they are useful especially as she likes to have some to hold when eating or if i feed her x |

| I thik the only neccessity is the spoons. If i make alfie food i freeze loads of portions and feed him directly out of the little pot most of the time once itd defrosted. x |

| i bought little pots and barely used them so didn't even bother with the bowls, i just used standard picnic style bowls..seemed a waste of money to buy all new stuff |

| Mari on myweaning class that im on at the minute they said that u dont need to sterilise bowls, spoons etc as by that age they are normally putting everything into their mouths anyway. Plus theyre uite a smoothe surface unlike bottles where they have lots of nooks and crannies for bacteria and germs to hide. They said as long as u wash them with hot soapy water should be fine.

| the only thing we;ve used was the freeezing trays from boots they're much bigger than normal ice cube trays and we could fit a whole meal sized puree in them - well now we need about 3 or 4 them per meal but still... Minimeg I don't know if the plates that stick to the trays are really very good... Tyler can pull all of his straight off... |

| I got plastic bowls and plates from Ikea - thats what hse uses mainly now, although when she was smaller I used perfect portions ones as they have 3 segments to put food in - so if just a little bit its easier for them to get it out
Spoons yeh definitely need small soft ones, but as they get older small teaspoons do the same thing! |

| We got a knife, fork and spoon set for her - she doesnt really use the knife but she uses the spoon and fork all the time. We had the stick on bowls and they were ok but could be pulled off if she really tried (which she did!) We have one of the three section plates like Lisa said and i like those. They are melamine ones from tesco, were not expensive x |
