| I hate it but only because round here we get stupid mischief night the night before. Last year we had a firework thrown at the car and we've already had the house egged this year If we could have halloween without mischief night then I wouldn't mind! xxx |

| I know they have it in certain parts of the country, I have no idea why! I'm in Liverpool and here it involves scallies throwing eggs at people/houses/cars etc. No one under 18 is allowed to buy eggs for a few days beforehand xx |

| Ugh I've heard of Mizzy Night (said with a very strong scouse accent). I think it only happens in/near Liverpool. Not nice or fun at all. Otherwise I don't have a problem with Halloween. I will actually kill any teenager that goes within 40 meters of our cars/house with an egg though! |

| We can get a bit of trouble here too, too many teenages with nothing useful to do. It's the same here that anyoen under 16 can't buy flour or eggs for a week.
I don't mind the little ones coming round as I like to see them dressed up, but I don't like the teenagers coming round who haven't even bothered to dress up. I also get peed off when they come round too late
I can understand some of the negativity towards it, for elderly people on their own it can be quite scary to have strangers knocking at the door and for those who are religious it can be against their beliefs. |

That's the same in my area, no eggs for under 18s, and I'm in York so I don't think its just a Liverpool thing, maybe a northern thing ? As for Halloween, I think its daft having all this negativity, its just a bit of fun at the end of the day, as long as the kids are supervised, I hate seeing little ones at my door with no parents to walk them round, I think thats bad x |

| We have mischief night round our end and its not too bad tbh. But i can see your point abour halloween niccsy. Lots of people wont take their kids out cause its not safe to go knocking on peoples doors. Well sorry but its been a tradition for years and i have been taking my kids for at least 10 years and never had one bit of bother! They love dressing up and going round collecting sweets. They are with me so what could happen to them?? I will continue taking them while ever they want to go! |

| Yep like semo said, Yorkshire (at least round North Yorks & York/Selby way) = Mickey Night, same thing - (the night to tape up your letter boxes if you live near a group of skanky teenagers ) Halloween itself though I'm excitited about, but not opening the door to trick or treaters this year as we know it will frighten bean (he didn't give two hoots last year!) Looking forward to Bonfire Night too - and wanted to use this for a while --> |

tbh im not the gr8est fan of halloween. round ours we never have litte kids - only teens who have been drinking and think by putting a sheet over there heads its dressing up.
most time i try to be out on halloween night cos cant stand constant knocking at my door!! |

| I lve seeing the little kids but the teenagers get told to bugger off! It's really quiet round here and everyone knows everyone and theres no roads so we get all the little ones coming round on their own, it does worry me abit! |

| Mischief night is bad here..hence why I cannot set up till the day of, as they would trash all my decorations. Frozen eggs on cars are really bad for the paint job, so keep an eye out for that, but lately they like to tag houses and cars with spray paint. Gone are the days of just TP'ing trees and yards! |

| As per usual.....on over reaction from my FB comment! I have an issue with very small children walking around the streets knocking on doors trick or treating WITH NO SUPERVISION....why does that make me miserable, wanting children to be safe! My FB statement basically says that we tell our children all year round not to talk to strangers and then because its halloween its OK for them to knock on strangers houses! This is meant without supervision, it just doesnt sit right with me! When my kids grow up i will of course go with them if they want to do it, or I will do a party for family & friends, to let them dress up etc. But go on, shoot me for wanting to keep children safe! |

| I must of missed the FB stuff...Madisyn never goes unattended trick o' treating..she goes with her dad, and I have to say that I rarely see any kids that are walking alone..they are usually in groups or with an adult. Then..when they return home..every single item of candy is inspected, to make sure it isn't tampered with. Most ppl now put a phone number or address with the candy. xxx |

| ah lisa its not that at all - its just a coincidence cos i've heard nothing but moaning about it lately and it really irritates me! its supposed to be fun. I completely agree on your comment and would not let children go around alone, but i just generally mean that everybody seems so miserable about it. I have always loved halloween, never had any problems and it was the only time of the year we were allowed a bag ful of sweets! lol There was never money involved tho i think that is stupid. and there is no 'as per usual' i generally just ignore peoples fb things that pee me off so its not like i start things all the time cos of fb so why is it as per usual? that comment annoys me. i understand not every kid around has manners or politeness but i for some of the lovely poilite cute little things that knock at our door its worth it! and as for religious views, im sorry but they dont respect my beliefs when they knock on my door every bloomin sunday, and carry on talking until i have to be rude to get rid. x |

I totally agree lisa and one thing is for sure evan wont be trick or treating at any age except around family, not because i dont trust the ppl on my street or anything but i jst dont like the idea of knockin on ppls doors for sweets i wud prefer to have a party for the kids which is what we r doin on sat well mil is doin on sat and evan will get dressed she will put games on etc evan still a bit young to understand, then on sunday we will dress him up again and take him round family trick or treating i dont think niccsy was gettin at u i think it was jst in general about ppl being miserable bout halloween although i find this quite common that ppl hate halloween dont know why i love it lol wud prefer it if it were me gettin dressed up and goin out tho lol |
