Me and Chris are trying to come up with different solutions for jobs, childcare etc....

we really really want to try and do our own childcare, but Chris would love a career and we cant do without my money, as im the main earner .....me working full time & Chris giving up his job to work evenings/weekends would work for us!

Im contracted to work ful time, and chris is contracted 2 days a week. So weve decided to apply for all sorts of jobs with different hours, and money, and make a decision if we get offered something different!!

Ive applied for a bigger position within my dept for more wonga (it just came up today!!), but competition is gonna be big, as these jobs are like rocking horse poo!

Chris has got an interview for Barclays & William hill next week (both evenings), and an NHS day job the week after

We need to get searching, I think id feel so much better if I knew we were sorted out!

Fingers crossed everyone, we so want to get ahead financially for once in our lives (after the bankruptcy), and look after our own kids....does this sound selfish? Are we being unrealistic?

I think if you have thought things through and are happy with how it leaves you as a family then go for it.

Personally I wouldn't want to do it that way because we would hardly see each other during the week

i dont think its selfish at all, you doing whats best for your family.

as for the jobs what about the supermarkets that open 24 hours especially with lead up to xmas.

Hopefully Chris would only work evenings or weekends, or a couple of evenings & an odd shift over the weekend.....were hoping not to have him doing every evening & weekend, so we all get some time together too!

It would probably be me that suffers most, not seeing the girls in the day....but at least daddy will be home with them!
