I just popped to Asda (worst hour ever - but that is another story) and as I pulled in to the parent and child parking, a woman in the space next to me was packing up her car and getting her little girl, prob the same age as Aimee, into the car.

I waited for her to get sorted before getting my huge arse out of the car, turned around as she was pulling away, to find that she had put her little girl (clearly under 2 years old) on the front seat... with no belt... and no car seat!

What makes it even worse.... is that there was a car seat in the back, strapped in, with no child in it!

How bloody stupid can you get!!!!!!

OMFG! Why would you do that! Not only is it stupidly dangerous if you crash, she's not going to know she has to sit still!

Some people are so selfish. Thats utter madness! Doesnt bare thinking about what would happen if they crashed but also the child could pull handbreak or reach for the whee and cause an accidentl!

I saw a woman go through a red light in town today & nearly knock someone down. She just drove off as if nothing happened and the couple where left shaking in the middle of the road...

i hate to see this, the other day i was behind a car on the motorway with 4 kids in the back jumping around a couple of them being really small like 2-3...its discusting!! i cant bare to think what would happen if that car crashed x

i would of stopped her and said something then reported her!!! stupid selfish cow. and if there was a accident she would feel bad then!! ppl dont think!! x

That is horrible, should of grabbed her plate number and called her in. Now days there is no way I would take my kids out without them buckling up safe and secure! Man..I am so lucky to be alive. Back when I was born, not only did we not have to wear seat belts, but car seats were pretty much unheard of. I also remember as a child sitting in the back of a pick up truck along with other kids being driven to all sorts of places.

I was going to take her number plate but didnt have anything to hand to write it on, and tbh, the police wouldnt do anything anyway.

Its the kid I feel sorry for, imagine having a parent who would risk putting your life at risk like that x

I hate seeing that too, in Cyprus hardly anyone even the English use car seats, makes me so mad!! Its just pure stupidity!!

Terri I was about to say the same thing! makes me sick to see it knowing how family orientated the cypriots are yet they let their kids run around the back (and front) of the cars... young babies just sat on their mums knees on the front seat

we never start the car without double checking the kids are securely strapped in and we're all belted up

I got picked up at larnaca in September by a taxi (that I'd booked and asked for a baby seat) it had no car seat and he told me just sit her on your knee with the seat belt round you both!!!! I refused to do this so he hot proper arsey and told me he wanted paying anyway! Didn't pay him but had to wait over an hour for a babyseated taxi to come! Worse thing is, is that my mil said I was very unreasonable!

Tbh, about the taxi thing - I have taken Caitlin on my knee in the back of a taxi 2-3 times for her hospital appointments. Its not illegal in this country in a public hire vehicle.
I was a bit nervous on the motorway with her but its a 15min trip & very awkward to manage a baby and a stage 1-3 carseat at the hospital.

Dont think I would do it on hol though. Some of their driving is so dangerous.
