D Day...well C day actually _
PostSubject: D Day...well C day actually   D Day...well C day actually EmptySun Nov 07, 2010 7:51 pm

Well the day had an early start, C woke up with what sounds like quite a chesty cough at 0530 and then because it was after midnight decided that was long enough in bed and started creating to get up. She came in bed with us for her milk but after an hour of trying to settle her back off Neil got up with her at 0630 and let me doze for another hour.

Got up at 0730 to find it had taken an hour to get her to eat her brekkie and write in nannas birthday card and when I tried to get her to write in Grampy's card got the card and the pen flung at me, she then tripped and fell twice in about a minute so decided enough was enbough and chucked her in her cot with her bunny. Took nerly 20 minutes of protest but she dropped off just after 8 so have run round loading dishwasher and tidying house in case anyone comes over. Have packed changing bag aside from a few extra nappies i cant get til i go in her room. Bedtime bunny is all washed and nice and white to come with us

So ive got 5 mins to myself then gotta go get me dressed and wake her about 9 to get her ready, give her some teething powder and all of us out the house by 0925 at latest

Wish me luck she wakes up more chipper and for the day in general! Will see you all tonight, hpefully with lots of nice photos

Mixed day in the end

She woke up from her nap at nine in better humour and i got us both dressedby 9.15 then had to rush iron neil's shirt as he announced he was wearing his other one. Got to church for ten to ten and bells were ringing and C was very excited Oma was ringing the bells for her. The service itself was nice and the vicar got her name right though two people doing notices and such called her Caitlin.

One godmother didnt turn up, rang her later and her son said she was ill and had gone to bed. Im annoyed to be honest as Ive had no phone numbers on my phone and not been in work for 3 weeks so not been able to update her so if shes genuinely ill it would have still been polite to let me know or ask her son to, im pretty easy to contact. And if shes sulking cos i didnt chase her up with all the final details i dont care ive had a busy time lately and im easy to contact through phone, email or facebook. So she didnt end up being godmother, her loss. Her other godmther and both godfathers came though. She was good as gold at church even dropping her usual rendition of twinkle twinkle in during the sermon and didnt fuss about the water though the look she gave the vicar when he did it was so classic id have given money to have a camera

After the service did fall out with OH after my sis commented he looked uncomfortable in churchand he decided instead of just passing it off to start on how he didnt agree with christening babies and they should choose when they are older. We left C with my mum while we went to get coats and i pretty much laid into him as i was furious with him about a) the appropriateness of that comment at that moment in that place and b)the fact that i didnt get married in church because i knew he didnt believe but that it was important to me personally C was baptised and if was going to respect his lack of belief it was about time he started respecting what i believe. Im not a god botherer or a rabid person wo pushes their beliefs on others, im actually quite private about my beliefs and can take church or leave it but today was very important to me and i told him if the only time i ever asked him to go into a church was forhis 2 childrens baptism he should respect me and shut the f*ck up like i did for him on our wedding day. He sulked for a while then apologised for what he had said and for upsetting me on c's big day. Im still irked about it but its neil thoughlessness and i accepted his apology cos i dont think he will try and mock me like that again.

From there we went to the chinese restaurant and the little dip in the day picked up again nicely. C was very well behaved considering how many people were in her face, she enjoyed her rice and sausages (!) and prawn crackers, shared most of it with bedtime bunny and then packed away 2 big profiteroles, it was a nice atmosphere at the restaurant though felt a bit awkward at times making sure all grandparents got enough time with c as there was a bit of - not exactly sniping but definate underhand moaning so i put c at my mum and stepdads table with neil and i for her main course then the other table wit my dad and stepmum and neils parents for her pudding and think i appeased all sides - sheesh

Went back to house after for coffee with aunties, uncles, cousins and parents and the cousins allhad fun playing with c and her toys andgenerally trashing our house - a tsk for tommorrow then we popped to my mum and step dads for another quick coffee and relative round before making our excuses, helped ably by the barnyard smell emanating from my small daughters bottom

We let her eat rubbishfor dinner - cheese toasties, crisps and a teacake and finally got her to bed for 7 as she was falling over tired by then

Ive put a photo thread up in member photos thanks for your good wishes. A relaxing sofa night for me now as verytired and achy
